Drum Brakes!

My notes say a brand new Toyota shoe lining thickness measured .250" .......... manual says lining thickness is 3/16". Someone had the 25 manual available on CD in the classifieds. ;)Literally the first time I've looked something up in it.
 
1/4", plenty o' room in those drums. Worse that could happen is you would have to chalk the shoes and dress them down with a file per the old school instructions I just read in the manual. o_O
 
Umm.. help. I took my '25 drums on friday to get them refurbished, but the machinist guy told me that they are to far gone. Is there any substitute or replacement I could find on the web? (Im in Costa Rica...). Really dissappointed and sad almost a month since I drove it ☹️.
 
Reviving this thread. do the lower adjusters have to be screwed or pressed out? i have the nuts off the back and they are too rusted to even turn.

btw, i think this thread was where someone posted about all friction co for re-lining. they still do a great if not pricey job. i sent them 8 rusty jacked up brake shoes and got these back
