sort of odd request but I'm wanting to build a scale model of a 22R for an RC '83 Hilux. I use AutoCAD to draw them first. I can do a lot with pictures but unless you have a motor to look at & measure, graphical plan drawings showing dimensions are almost essential.

I have an FJ40/F engine in the garage but the wife will kill me if I drag a blown engine home to make another model of.

Done a lot of searching but most dimensions are bore/stroke, etc. not the kind you need for making a model.

Any suggestions? all sugestions appreciated.

Maybe go to the closest scrap yard that has engines laying around with a tape measure and camera. Sorry but that's about the only thing I can think of? Lol

I have a bare block in the garage. What measurements do you want?

I have these, if that helps.

Thanks. I've been calling around... thought I might find a blown engine & pay the core charge, leave it my basement for a while & bring it back. still looking

Thanks pappy, I may take you up on that. The images Don has posted are pretty good. I found that isometric view but the side & front view are what I needed. I can reference them into CAD & as long as I have one meaurement to scale from, the image will be scaled properly & I can just trace it.

Thanks Don, I will take those.

Ideally, I have a nice new clean engine I can walk over to and take measurements from but.... I'm going to run with what I have at the moment.

don't want to get side tracked here but this is what I'm doing. I draw the parts in AutoCAD & scale them down to what I want & then have them printed via 3D printer.

here are a few pieces I've done. Most are part of a 1953 gas pump but the wrench, gas nozzle, dutch oven are all drawn in CAD & printed 3D.
