Did Toyota ever sale the 1970's and 1980's doublecab trucks in Canada and if they did how plentiful would they be?

I would like to bring one down and fix it up.

I don't think Canada got them, or I think they'd be more prevalent here in the states by now... Yes, all body styles of 4WD Toyotas had a double cab option.

nope. all pickups were either single or extra. only thing that had 4 doors and a bed was a jdm imported hilux or a doublecab tacoma...which you guys obviously got as well...

i would love to cut off the back of the meat mobile and add 15 inches to it, and cut the bed down more too to accommodate.

This one is in Albuquerque. I saw it parked on the street, so I had to stop and wait for the owner so we could have a chat. Imported to the states by a Canadian who co-owned a mine here, and he got it from Japan.

It's simply not fair that they weren't sold here. Not fair at all. That's an '84 IIRC.

I hear the S Africans carried on making the mk2 shape into the 90s (ended GB 1989). That looks like a mk3.. over here we got it til 97 chances are they continued that shape too.

Toyota South America made the Mk3 body doublecab Hilux until past 2001. Here is a 2001 and a 2004.

The current Hilux uses a post-Tacoma IFS...the romance of the solid axle is gone...but I'd still like to have one!

here's a pic of my 1990 LN106 model, imported to Canada 2 years ago from Japan. it has 65,000 miles on it and runs / drives like new. The AC even works!
