The sweetheart who took my legs out from under me and caused me to need this surgery. She’s parked next to my desk looking out for me as I work from home. The other picture is her and Bear Sharing guarding duties. The last one is her in her favorite field. I don’t know that I would be back to working, albeit, a reduced schedule, without them.

@efjayatee this is what happened to us. At 7 yrs old, we brought a golden retriever pup into the house. At 11, she passed away and the golden was left alone for the first time…over those 7-8 months she became so despondent and depressed our ONLY option was another dog. I’d resisted for months. My wife and I should be winding down at this age but it was heartbreaking.

Adopted this gorgeous black lab two months ago and like magic…Ruby is 90% back. I am so thankful …I still dispute the dog at this age but nothing I can do about that. So, my wife finds a silver lab pup and the insanity had begun. And then there were 3

Wish my wife would let me adopt another. My fury girl is missing a sibling.
I have always had at least two dogs because my wife and I both work and I never wanted to leave a dog home alone.

I say, adopt another dog and then ask forgiveness rather than asking permission first 😈😂😂😂. You know she’ll fall in love with a new family member in no time and forget all about why she didn’t want another one.

That does sound like a good strategy…..when not over used

Gotta call the night before last that a good girl was found wandering in Memphis with a degloved tail. Memphis Animal Control is so overloaded that they just don't have the space and money to care properly for her, so the listed her for immediate euthanasia. Three Friends Rescue reached out to me and asked if I could go and get her by 1 pm yesterday.

I realized that I probably couldn't make it on time in my FJ40, so I reached into my toolkit and chose to misbehave.

Got there with 20 minutes to spare. Picked up this good girl and delivered her to Three Friends.

Anyone wanting to support her recovery can contact them on Facebook

You’re a righteous human being!

Doesn't that hurt a bit?

He managed to position himself high enough on chest that it was ok. I didn’t start to panic until he wanted to get down. I have pretty strong core muscles and was able to stabilize well enough while coaching him to get down gently that it was ok. The affection that he wanted to show was worth the risk. He’s a very gentle dog. I trusted him to follow my guidance on how to get down.

Speedy recovery Doc… you can see the love in her eyes just sitting there. Yeah, those dismounts can be tense

Lost our last rescue unexpectedly 3 months ago. Our search for new one led us to Tess. Getting older we felt puppy was little too much and Tess appeared to be pretty laid back.

Once we got home we learned how scared she truly was of people. Some dark history for sure. Couple weeks ago adoption agency made comment how sad her situation was that we knew nothing about. Apparently she lived on streets in OKC for over a year and was possibly owned by a homeless person. When they noted she was pregnant they had to trap her.

It’s taken a couple months for her to come around but she is realizing she isn’t looking for food or having to run from people anymore.

Couple weeks after we got her I screwed up and let her off leash, well she wouldn’t come back to me. This is evident as I’m lying in yard trying to win her trust. Now no leash, enjoys running on property and taking dispensing front pond. She did find some cow crap one day on walk which is never fun.

Everyday she gets better. Still bothered by quick movements or loud noises she loves sleeping on bed.

I said the same thing …. We’re getting older and a puppy is out of the question. We eventually found a black lab and our golden has recovered from her depression. Puppies are for the younger folks.

My wife and I don’t travel, we have 2 dogs so, when my wife saw this silver lab… we don’t travel we have 3 dogs!
Between the nips and biting, zoomies, hourly potty and feed, it is baffling how we talked ourselves into this. PLUS, she sleeps on the bed with us.
