Does that basically mean you'd need new UCAs even if only doing a 2" lift?
Yes, but only if you add the droop spacer (supplied) on the underside of the strut mount, mostly because the stock UCA's don't have much clearance to the coils, and at full droop they can hit the coils. It would still be super close to touching even if they weren't extended travel due to the OD of the coils.

Edited, got clarification from Dobinsons on the IMS and GS struts - they do not require UCA's and a diff drop kit if the included droop spacer is not installed on the underside of the strut mount, but for 2.5" or 3.0" of lift, it is intended to be installed to prevent strut top-out, and then the UCA's and a diff drop kit should be installed.

What is a droop spacer? Check this out: https://exitoffroad.com/what-is-a-droop-spacer/

The Dobinsons MRR front struts ARE extended travel and require a diff drop kit and UCA's at any lift height. I'll clean up the #1 post to represent this info.

Just throwing this up here for anyone listening, today and tomorrow are the last days of our Black Friday / Cyber Monday sale (ends 12/1/2025 at midnight PST). All components and kits are on sale and already discounted on our website, so don't delay if you've been considering picking up some parts or a full kit.

Me seeing this after the sales have all ended 😩

@crikeymike Looking to do a fairly simple adjustment and curious what your thoughts would be between the 883 and the 885 springs in the rear. I carry between 50-100lbs consistently in the rear and also tow with a tongue weight around 350lbs fairly often. Am I right in reading that the 883 would basically improve load carrying but the 885 would give me around .5" of lift? Assuming either of these would work fine with everything else remaining stock.

Hey bud

Yeah, I'd go with the 885 coils. What you assumed is right, and since that's a good chunk of weight, you'll want a little more coil than less. And yes, everything else stock is still ok.

One other question - how do you think the geometry is going to be when I am unloaded with the 885s - 1/2" doesn't seem like a lot of extra rake so I don't feel too worried about it.

I don't think it will be very noticeable at all.
