Do you like your LED light bars? Impressions?

Maybe at least after the first of the year. But I ordered a pair of pods, debated whether I had the dough to spend on a lightbar too, and decided to be frugal. I'm already kicking myself...

I've got a few extras coming. :) send me a PM

I'll let UZJ run through the spares he purchased and then I'll revisit the idea of a group buy.

In the meantime, I'll be saving up for a red star.

Produced, assembled in Mesa Az by American workers who are offroaders who stand behind their product.

You sure they don't just assemble in Az? A lot of the time that's all it takes to get a "Made in USA" stamp on a product.

Couple things. Chances are the LED diode and some of the electronics are Chinese regardless of the Make.

Second, Nick who has tirelessly tested, revised and retested the lights that he is selling is an American Offroader who stands behind his product in my book. I would buy from him in full confidence that I'm getting a quality product at a great value.

well, Nick talks the talk. we converse at length when i was ordering my 8 lights, he seemed to know his stuff.

i have not bought from him before so i am on neutral ground at this point, as i am when using any new vendor.

First of all, I never said anything about the "other" product, I run Rigid products, there are some other brand stuff I like but Rigid has always provided me with what I need. How many of Nicks items were on Baja 1000 cars/trucks, anyone can put a bar on a 100 series and plod along a dirt road and call it offroading.
Rigid, Baja Designs, Vision X can say they have.

The lower to mid range quality LEDs will have a market, even 4Wheel Parts imports a LED to sell next to Rigids LEDs.

You won't see any of my light bars running around in the Baja 1000. The design is 3 months old, from China, and I'm a rather small company. I'm not rehashing this debate, read the pages before and you'll see this discussion is happening all over again. I'm going to try to outfit a few Baja, and KOH rigs in the spring. For now, I'm coming out of pocket to revise, test, destroy...repeat. Yeah, anybody can bolt anything to a 100 series, that's pretty obvious. I don't "go offroad" in my 100. I actually wheel it and test my stuff. If a customer sends me $1,000... I'm going to know exactly what it takes to destroy this thing, how it's made and what's in it. I'd rather find the breaking point than the customer finding the breaking point. Last picture is the 3rd revision.

Oh yeah...VisionX doesn't bull**** about their junk...No way. WAY!. Gimme a break. LEDs from VisionX (I've got the proof of personal experience) and I surmise other big name players too are more hype than performance. For what they charge the performance should at least come close to matching their marketing campaigns. Not even close! About a 2:1 factor on the bull****-to-reality meter.

So I say bring it on Nick! Lots of room for improvement in the game of off-road LED driving light. Maybe you'll make VisionX, etc., wake up and pay attention...or at the very least offer a product worthy of the incredulous pricing they command.

Agreed.

I can respect higher wages paid to workers for "made in the USA" products (which, nowadays, is heavily offset by the cost of logistics) , but seriously, there's a point where premium pricing crosses over into ridiculous pricing.

Spresso...look for a PM soon.

Just wanted to say that my 10W Light Pod Pair (Flood) arrived today. Initial impressions are good. Well packaged and the product looks good. Have to get out to the shop tomorrow and apply some voltage to them to test them out and then need to get them installed.

Spressomon! Your vertical wash problem is solved, as well as excessive foreground light. 32" in light fog the other night.

give him a break, he does drive a FJLoser. says a lot about his personality.

for the price we paid, IF they should "go out" it was worth the try by supporting an active mud .

There is no "go out", I stand behind my products and one were to fail you'd have a replacement (10W or 42") in the mail the following day, given I had one on hand.

that is what i figured, just sayin that supporting a mud member and at the price we are paying, it is still worth the investment.
