You could even make a Christmas tree stand rather than paying 25$ for one..

Everything about that picture makes me glad we don't bother with a live tree anymore...:flipoff2:

Even the mini fake one will probably be shorter lived than usual this year.

Puppy that lives on the assumption that everything that fits in its mouth will fit out its a******...not sure how it's gonna react to a hideous flashing green and red piece of crap in a corner. :bang:

No welding but definitely diy metal work. Made a Japanese style kitchen knife today.

Nope, I haven't had crap to do with anything for this holiday in over 25 yrs. Just think you should
have welded flat pad to that leg to protect the floor.

Some large fender washers... or cut some with a hole saw.

Not as cheap as the last one...

But more welder.

Those Clarke's aren't bad. Think that model was my first mig probably 20 years ago.

Had it for years then did the crappy tire migpak deal as an upgrade, which only lasted for a few months because at the time spool gun wasn't compatible.

Midland tools used to carry them. Not sure who does now, but that'd be the only issue. Finding who sells parts. They use a different gun than you find at most welding shops.

That one has a digital face. So it was at least made during this century. Seems like a good deal.

I don't see digital?

Don't mind an older unit, long as it's well built and works.

I've seen good deals on the small islands. I think they have to price lower to make it worth the hassle/trip.

Yeah I think those are hand holes not a digital screen?

Not sure of age on that species.

They're all getting so fancy and digital now...almost like it's getting harder to make things idiot proof.

OK, bump of this thread got me looking again. An 'un-named' classified website had this posted 16hrs ago. I've been ideally looking for something in the 170-180A range. This price seems very reasonable to me considering what these are new (note this is the 'POWER MIG', not 'MIG PAK'. There is a big difference in new price due to better quality of POWER MIG). What do you guys think?

OBO - Mig welder - Lincoln 180c
$700

Details

Older Lincoln 180c, works well. I'm keeping the argon tank and the cart. Open to offers or full/partial trades on steel fab shop tools (benders, brakes, etc) or cool chopper s***.

That’s close to what it was paid for new. Little high

No it's not. You're thinking of Mig Pak. Power Mig is a lot more money, as it's much better made apparently. It's hard to find pricing, but I'm seeing $1650CAD on Lincoln's website.

I remember having that conversation with a Lincoln tech support dude.

I had the crappy tire migpak one, called about being able to use a spool gun, he laughed. Something about the box store cheap version having a lot of plastic in it. Among other things.

They still seem to last forever despite that, so you'd think the better version would be pretty solid...

But I dunno. Miller's easy button sold me.
