Just wait for the Lincoln 180 migpack to come on sale at Canadian tire. I think they go as low as $599. I run .35 wire. it does body work and 1/2 plate. 220volt. I love it!
That's the one I was thinking of.

It's definitely a hard deal to beat.

I actually had one once for a few months but I sold it because you couldn't add a spool gun, and I was whoring myself out to weld some aluminum at the time.

I even called Lincoln and asked a tech, and apparently they cheapened up the box store ones by removing a few things. Couldn't really add them back in either.

This was a long time ago mind you, it could well be different now. :meh:

Think I've had my Miller 180 for close to 10 years, so at least that long ago.

Sorta wish I'd gone for the 212 , I have @Toshi38 's in my shop. Nice machine.

Actually you can add a spool gun to a Lincoln 180 migpack. That’s the exact setup I have with the spool gun. You can’t add a spool gun to the Lincoln 140. Not that I’m advocating for Lincoln I have had no issues but you can’t beat Miller.

After purchasing a new welder then you will need to go shopping for another tool chest for all the accessories!! Somewhere to store your chipping hammer, wedges, clamps, gloves, welding Bennie, scribes, soapstone, spare tips, and spare spools of wire.

Speaking of which does anyone have use for these goggle replacement lenses, for free!

Pretty sure I bought the 180 not the 140, and spool gun was a no go, but like I said, it was a wee while ago, they probably changed it.

Or, it could be my rememberer has been pickling too long. :hillbilly:

From the "someone didn't pay for this steel" school of bbq building.

We have two tig/stick machines in the welding shop at work here, but they only get used for stick because the argon bottle is empty.

I've been trying for months to get it filled so I can play with the tig on nights but, the wheels turn slowly here.

That's where he's keeping the Gimp

In the Nick of time, don’t blame me, blame quarantine. Good deal on a generator if anyone is looking.
Generac is pretty much the best on the market.

Thanks for the head's up Jon. I thinking about spending a little more for a non retail version, but want to compare specs a little more to see if there is a real advantage or not.

The Generators are at Shelbourne Home Depot... I posted them in another thread because I forgot where I’d seen the C.Tire Genny Adds. Don’t know jack about either... other than them being about the same $$$

Huh, the Canadian Tire version has better output. Generac are good, if I didn’t have a pair of
Yamaha I’d get one of these. Either one would run most appliances in a house except apparently
the boiler at Nicks place.

The lights at my house dim when it fires up ;)

C tire also had electric start... but seems to be a model made for C tire. Couldn’t see much for specs on it.

Got an Onan 3600 LP, Colman 2500, and a diesel rig with a 215 amp monster alternator, The inverter needs TLC ATM, but there’s normally another 2000 watts of pure sine battery backed-up power.

The only thing I haven’t figured out is the well pump. It’s 230V but only draws 6 A. I should
go look at that one on C Tire. Even if we just ran it on an extension cord we could prime the
cisterns and do dishes. Could sell one of the Yamaha’s to cover it’s cost.

@GTSSportCoupe, I'd grab that 251 that Bikersmurf posted. Its a commercial machine, can easily run a spool gun.
I've got the same one and its more than i'll ever need.
Got it from @hellbent40, another MIA Cruiserhead/Weldernator.

Somehow I missed that above. Thanks very much, will look into it!
