Paul is a good guy, I have purchased a TLC from him a while back and he went out of his way. In fact I supplied him the coral vinyl for that restoration.

As for the seats I want tot make sure there is NO stitching on the face of these and they are correct.

Vinyl should be delivered today here at work..

Greetings,

I set the welt cold seen in the picture to the mill, I had three samples set back, lighter, darker and a match. The reason for the three is you get the guy that says how do you know it's original? It's 44 years old it could have faded and so on....this piece was taken of a seat back that had never been apart to my knowledge and was in nice condition.

Pics are with flash, but its exact in my eyes.

that's pretty sweet shane. I could be in for a set.

I can take a pic of mine but i'm not sure what your really after. they have been recovered black but they have the original underneath... you can see from th ebrochures that the 64/65 have the pleats or stitching in them. I think the early seats like the 25's were just a flat cushion

his passenger side of the bumper is driving me nuts though ;)

Exactly! That pic shows a 2"stitching in the seat, I have no idea what year would get this or what is really original here. I like the flat, but again the other would be more forgiving.

This might just be the best option...

The stitching is definatly stock for his year. I don't know the exact years but mine is that way under my black cover. Treeroot picked up a 64 that was the same way. https://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-series-tech/63042-1964-fj40.html I think I have a pic of another early cruiser with the stitching.

sooo the change over from flat seats to stitched seats must have been in 1963/64 some time? was your seats redone before destin? I noticed that deans 64 had no stitching....but...i have some literature that shows stitching in 63

are you going with stitching destin? inquiring minds want to know :)

Hmmm...I don't know anymore :meh:

I do know that my rig was manufactured around Oct/Nov '63, and that besides and engine swap, and some quick "farm style" body work, she is, or appears to be, all stock. I never really studied the seats...just took them for granted considering the rest, as they showed no signs of being altered...or at least nothing that grabbed my attention...

If I get to the seats this week-end I'll give them a really good cleaning to look at the detail...

I gave the front seats a quick wipe to be able to sit in the thing when I got it, and here are the couple of pics I have on hand...you guys let me know what you think.

BTW...I kinda like the smooth look...
