Hey Destin, I'm with you on the work thing the financial crisis is way behind us in Aus. You probably know this but ensure the engine shop know you expect them to tune it back to the standard you had it at.
Cheers Dobster
Destin, I just saw an f engine on craigslist in springfield ,not sure how far from you but it is an f135 with 10k on a rebuilt, pulled from an fj45 for conversion,$500...Possible back up motor,if god forbid your engine doesnt cooperate....
can you guys help me with a list of all the things i should check when this thing is all back together?
I just want to be able to truck the motor not to go out in the middle of no where etc
I try to be pretty thorough, but input is always good, do not want to have to take this motor back again to be fixed.
thanks guys
I am guessing:
( in no real order here btw )
1) check timing
2) check points
3) check vacuum
4) rpms/dwell
5) check compression
6) valves
7) recheck temp gauges
new bits:
-new water pump
-cleaned radiator
-new thermostat

Destin, for what it's worth, I would jump on it![]()
If you want to be sure just ask the engine rebuilder what to do, that way they can never say you did something wrong or forgot to replace a part.![]()
Never look back, the futures is what count....
maybe i should have bought a used motor to begin with![]()
That's beautiful!
Hope all goes well.
Cheers.
