What is the brand and part number for those coolers? They are a nice size and I like that they match. You have the AC condenser in there too right?

The AC condenser is the big black radiator looking thing behind the two smaller coolers :)

Derale #13316 is the part , this one has -6AN fittings

Awesome, thanks! The mounts are sweet too!

Power steering pressure line. If you ever do blow the hose the -6AN fittings are re usable and field serviceable. A vise, couple wrenches a little oil and the right hose and you are back in business.

Really nice hard-line work, most folks, myself included, just take the easy way out and do all soft lines.

Thanks much Jason. Means a lot coming from you.

Thanks Matt. I like the hard lines as well, I really wanted to do more hard lines on the trans cooler than I did but getting them in place for the route they have to go was about impossible with 180 hairpin bends etc.

Got the trans lines all together. All I need are the 9/16-18 to -6AN fittings for the trans. They used to be 1/4 straight pipe but changed somewhere along the way. Those I have in stock and they fit in two 4L65Es sitting here at the shop.

I thought the 4L transmissions were metric? I could have sworn it was an 18MM fitting and I used a kit from Summit specifically for going to the AN lines for a cooler, but I don't remember if it was a 4L80e or other.

How do you do mockup for bending hardlines? Those bends are perfect.

Thanks much guys.

Matt- The fitting size on "older" 4L65E is 1/4- NPSM, this is a straight thread DO NOT USE NPT. I keep them in stock. I am using a new GM Performance crate 4L65E in this build and the size is 9/16-18, also a straight thread. I confirmed this with GM Performance. When the change occurred I do not know. I do not know the size of the cooler lines on the 4L80E, logic would say the same, but ya know where that gets you :)

Mocking up lines, I take measurements and look at it from all angles, then just start bending. It sounds weird, but you kinda just have to see it in your head. The more you do it, the easier it gets.

Ahhhhh yes, my not so favorite part of the job. The amount of aftermarket wiring is amazing, some was already removed when the photo was taken. It's all gone now and the OEM wires that were hacked have been repaired. Blew it all out and wiped it all clean with a damp rag, at least I stopped sneezing :)

I am not a big fan of the stock gauges, but I am a fan of how they are placed in the dash. The Autometer gauges for this project are designed to be face mounted, most are. I am not fond of the look when face mounted. So I made a bracket to rear mount them using the OEM mounting positions.

In that last photo Stan it looks like you are holding a potato to take the picture!!!
Great work on recessing the gauges, I agree with the not liking the flush/surface mount. Now me, I would also color the chrome ring. Little grey or black plasti-dip and all good.

So here is a question I have been meaning to ask about the gauges. On the stock FJ6x gauges they are run by a manual driven cable the comes from the transfer case, correct? If one is switching out the transmission but not doing a full drivetrain change why is this not retained? Am I correct in the assumption that it is because the ECM for the Vortec uses a signal off the new speedo gauge?

GPS Speedo Stan? I loved my SpeedHut GPS speedo.

The speedo can use input from a GPS or from the VSS via the computer. I plan to use the VSS
