Sorted out the fuel pump. Adapted the OEM plate to accommodate new pump setup.

As you know, the factory GM pumps use an integrated sump arrangement.

However, over 40k miles on on a very similar setup to yours, I have found no issues even with a very low fuel level. The tanks on these rigs are very well baffled.

I do feel that the jury is still out on the overall longevity of the pump in this type of arrangement (say over 100k miles).

Your thoughts?

Great build. cheers

The tank is baffled well and I see no reason why the pump should have any issue. The OEM pump is pretty much the same and they last quite a while as well. This is a Walbro pump.

Shot the floor and foot wells with Lizard Skin. Fire wall and underside of body and rear fender wells are also shot with LS.

Fuel pump & sender installed, a harness and a couple hoses and the tank will be ready to install.
Corvette style fuel filter/ pressure regulator. -6AN fittings all around.
The harness will have a ground pig tail to the mounting bolt on the filter/reg

Lizard Skin looks great! Is that the "Sound Control" or "Ceramic Insulation" being used? Same stuff used all over?

I used a coat of the Ceramic on both sides of the floor and firewall. Lizard skin says that it too provides sound deadening to a degree. That along with the foil should control temps and sound pretty well.

Fuel tank harness is complete includes a dedicated ground that runs back to battery negative. Frame side of this harness has pigtail ground at fuel filter/ regulator that also ties to the frame at that position.

Stan does this motor have AFM (Active Fuel Managment)? I'm not sure if all new production LS motors have it or not.

The reason I ask is the one we just finished up had the hardware for it (lifters and valley pan cover) but without the program it caused some serious headache. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

It is not in the motor I have, I believe it may be available in the 6.2L LS and LT versions. Don't hold me to it as I only recall reading a bit about it.

That system and VVT is a reason I personally prefer Gen III motors

I chose Gates Powergrip clamps on this system. Shrink wrap on steroids. I tried to twist it with a strap wrench, no movement at all. The tool cuts them off.

The heater hose running to the valve requires a 180 turn, made a standoff that bolts to the valve cover. Still needs paint
