Alright - it's been too :censor: quiet here lately.

Who's going and when do you plan on leaving? TACODOC has yet to post up the location this year on Expo Portal.

I've got Friday off so plan on leaving the 15th to secure a decent site. Will bug out Sunday at my leisure.

We're more than likely going and will be following this thread.

Tentatively planning on going depending on location and distance from house. Had a couple unexpected expenses lately so gas cost will be a factor.

Hope you can make it - sounding like it's going to be closer to you than us up here in OC.

I'm hoping to head out sometime Friday morning...

Pretty sure I know where it's gonna be. I have a mole :censor:

My son and I will be coming out Friday morning. I think one day of first grade is well worth the adventure of being outdoors in the wilderness learning things not taught in schools anymore.

Agreed!

Looks like it is at the same location as the first year. I should be able to make this.

Where was that? I didn't make the first one. All I heard was that rangers shoo'ed a bunch of folks closer to the road than they had been.

Bradshaw trail east of the Salton Sea. I like this location a lot better than where we were last year. More interesting and remote.

I have Friday off so will head out there in the morning. If anyone wants to meet in Mecca we could caravan in from there.

I'm off as well - would you head up Box Canyon Road back to I-10? I'll probably come out the 10 - much quicker than thru AB.

Was planning on going in from the Salton Sea side and up the Bradshaw trail to camp. A bunch of us used this route in 2011 and it was a fun run and a little more off road than coming in from the I-10.

Here are the directions to the beginning of the trail. You actually do not follow the canal road but go across the canal at the end of Desert Aire drive and pick up a dirt pole line maintenance road.

From Indio, take State Highway 111 east about 23 miles to the Salton Sea State Recreation Area. Across from Park Headquarters is Parkview Drive. Turn left on Parkview Drive for about 1.7 miles, then left on Desert Aire for about 0.5 miles to the canal road. Follow the canal road for about 10 miles to Drop 24 and the beginning of the Bradshaw Trail.

Sounds good to me. What time to you want to meet Friday?

I've been contemplating running the rest of Bradshaw on Saturday if anyone is interested. I've never run it and Dave says it's easily doable in a day.
