The DR is schedule for March 21-23 somewhere in the deserts of SoCal

Ok, I dug up the trip we planned to the event last year. Still looking for a photo but the details are as follows:

Final Plans for Friday:

- I will be monitoring 146.460 and Keller Peak on the drive out from Long Beach. We can monitor 146.460 while on the trail.
- We will be meeting in the parking lot at the General Patton Museum @ 62510 Chiriaco Rd Indio, CA 92201 (760) 227-3483. It is approx 29 miles e/o Indio off of the 10 fwy at exit# 173 (Chiriaco Summit).
- There is a Chevron station located at the same exit if needed.
- We are planning to leave the parking lot for the trail at noon. So if you plan to check out the museum (which is free) plan on arriving early.
- Dirt is 1.4 miles from the parking lot so i figure we can air down (if so desired) in the parking lot and slowly make our way to the Red Canyon Jeep Trail.
- Hopefully we are all good with this not being a race to the campsite and we can have mellow drive and stop a bit for photo ops, etc.

Looking forward to seeing some old friends and meeting new ones!

See you all on Friday!

These plans worked out well I think and all had a good run to the event. So, perhaps we can do the same again this year?

I can view the thread just fine and I am not logged in. I don't believe I have an account either.

Am I missing the location? From what I can tell location is still TBA.

Quick photo from last year's run...

Still appears to be TBA however I suspect it will be at the same location....

Interesting - don't remember being asked for a referrer. You really want one of us to vouch for YOUR character, with OUR character as reference.:lol::lol: :flipoff2: :lol::lol:

No problem putting me down.

RE: location. Either place, 2012 or 2013 location are fine and plenty big enough for this large a gathering. BLM land for Dave's range for shooting, etc.

BTW - there is a small admission fee for the Patton Museum. Worth it if you've never been there. My father was a huge WWII buff and while living in Germany we visited many of the WWII battlefields, etc.

Does that mean we can bring firearms?

Does that mean we can bring firearms?

Yes - Realize that Dave and a good portion of his American Adventurist Conspiracy team are military (Thanks for your Service!). In past BLM land rendezvous' they've set up a very safe range with very strict rules and guidlines used at shooting range. They are very serious about it, and that's a good thing. They will not tolerate random shooting just because they are on BLM land and it's allowed.

Thanks for the update. I know BLM rules, just didn't know American Adventurist rules since I don't go there. I m on Expo but rules there are different.

We had a blast there 2 weeks ago :bounce:http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-idC_lf8t9cI/Uv1DSnPVMsI/AAAAAAAACOg/2Gq4kS8coeE/s1600/NKN_6296-1.jpg

I'm sorry...looking at that picture, you or whoever was responsible for that 'blast' should be thrown in jail, regardless of legality given the unprecedented drought and dry contitions. While the forefront of the pic appears to be all rock, I see some foliage in the background and the last thing we need in SoCal is another massive brush fire! No rant off here and no I won't chill out about it. It's just plain STUPID!

It was near DV so there's nothing around to burn.

Coordinates for this posted - same location as last year. As discussed above - same plans as last year to meet at the summit and take Jeep trail down to Bradshaw and up to the site. I'm in.
