Just saw that they may be giving the Ham tech license test at this event. If you do not have a license now would be a good time to take the test. It's $15 and a very easy test if you study a little.

Copy that...Spot #49: VDBAZFJ is out; 1FZJ80 gets the spot. Roster amended to reflect updates

Hey fellas. Realistically how much time does it take to get out to the location from O.C?

Just drove to La Quinta in approx 2 hours with a little traffic. IIRC the summit at Patton Museum is another 1/2 our at least from what I recall last year. Give yourself 3 hours. Google says it's 2;23 from Laguna Niguel over the toll road and I think that's optomistic.

Day trip??? Realistic????

Lots of driving, but yes. Went to La Quinta to play golf last Saturday. Left Laguna Niguel at 5:45am. Arrived in La Quinta at 7:45am. DV is another half hour plus. That's early morning. Saturday late afternoon will SUCK thru Moreno Valley and the 60/15 interchange. If you left after dinner, it might be somewhat better. Same trip home from La Quinta leaving about 1:00pm or thereabouts, took 2:30 hours. Just to give you some idea.

Hope you make it one way or another!
