Alright fellas. I'm definitely out for this years DR. I found out today that my wife has mid-terms on that Saturday. I have to take care of the kiddos. Sucky.

Get on the waiting list over on American Adventurist. Usually lots of cancelations last minute...or yea, just run into us. I doubt BLM rangers will show up to count heads or trucks, but I don't want to jeopardize any permit Dave and his crew may be pulling for this either! They put way too much effort into this to spoil it.
On the wait list. People seem to be dropping already so there's a pretty good chance I'll be "official."

Bubba yes, GF no. We were supposed to be in Italy but the trip fell through. She doesn't get nearly the vacation time I do, so she' saving it for another time. I'm working on getting her to commit to Moab.

Put the application in yesterday for a new vanity call sign and might have it by event time.
Also ordered a Baofeng UV-5R for kicks since they are so cheap. Will see how it works on the trail.
My boss and I bought them and they work really well on the open channels even in the middle of the city. I really need to get my HAM license so I can use more than 5 channels.
