I am looking into the Depo situation. I just had about 6 members order Depo's and send them to me. I'm pretty sure I have the North American Depo inventory in my front room. I am not a Depo Dealer, however I am trying to become one so the MUD community has a direct line for Depo headlights and HID upgrades for them.
Those eBay projector lamps have plastic lens, they will fade and deteriorate within a year. I would not invest in those headlights.
As for fitment of the LX, I'm not sure of all the details, but I do know you must modify the grill.
Depo's are glass lense, I can confirm that.
That explains the cost difference. Thanks for the info. Do you have any pics of the Depot's installed. I would like to see the visual difference between the two. Do the Depots wrap around and include the corner light like the Halos do?
No they do not. I would strongly advise you not to even consider the Halo lights. I pulled some off of a wrecker here because they were really cheap and I am not impressed in the slightest. Nick, if someone wants to have you retrofit some Depo lights with HID's, do they have to ship them to you themselves or can they (I) paypal you for the cost of purchasing? I ask because the Ebay seller charges $200 to ship to Canada (and then I would have to turn around and pay to have them shipped to you and back again once retrofitted) and won't ship to the states when the buyer is located in Canada.

Nick/Lou do you have any problems with running this higher wattage setup? I too have a set that was retrofitted but feel like it could use more light. The guy who did my retro says he doesnt recommend going higher than the 35w OE ballasts that I have.
BTW how much $ is this higher wattage setup?
There are still vendors on ebay that sell them. I'm currently in the process of trying to figure out how difficult it will be to make these lights fit my Lx. I know the wiring connections aren't right and I was told there is some plastic trim that doesn't line up either (havn't been able to verify that yet). Here's the ones I have been looking at: http://www.ebay.com/itm/91-97-LAND-CRUISER-DUAL-HALO-PROJECTOR-LED-HEADLIGHTS-LAMPS-LIGHTS-LEFT-RIGHT/360767641068?rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D261%26meid%3D2050400099776375744%26pid%3D100005%26prg%3D1088%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D5%26sd%3D360752161087%26 http://www.ebay.com/itm/91-97-LAND-CRUISER-DUAL-HALO-PROJECTOR-LED-HEADLIGHTS-LAMPS-LIGHTS-LEFT-RIGHT-/360752161087?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3AToyota%7CModel%3ALand+Cruiser&hash=item53fe81213f&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/91-97-Toyota-Landcruiser-FJ82-Twin-Dual-Halo-Headlight-Head-Lamp-led-strip-blue-/190844929135?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3ALand+Cruiser&hash=item2c6f3e846f&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/Anzo-USA-111092-Crystal-With-Halo-Headlights-91-97-Toyota-Land-Cruiser-/290984216791?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43c002c8d7&vxp=mtr EDIT: I just went back and looked at the links closer and it looks like the first 3 links are all the same vendor and the first two links he lists "2 for sale" and then next to that says "2 sold" so maybe he no longer has any.
It depends on what projector you are running, and how it is vented. If you have a smaller projector, it's not advised to run higher wattage. The heat will deteriorate the chrome on the projector bowl. Your 35W bulbs are fine with a 50W ballast, so you just need to swap out the ballasts. Do you know what bulbs you are running?
The Mini D2S projector is able to handle 50W with no deterioration over prolonged times. As long as your retrofitter did not seal the projector up to prevent light leaks in the housing. While sealing the projector does make it look better, it also bakes everything to the point of failure.
