We were working on my reclaimed 60
So Archie, You aren't Cruiserless ?
Are you taking the 60 to GSMTR ?

I would love to but it depends on Luis. I have agreed to split the gas with him and ride shot gun. If he is not able to go I will drive it up to GSMTR. We'll see how it does this weekend if my locker arrives in time to install. If the locker doesn't get here in time I'll have to wait for a test run up there at a later date. I want to crawl some moderate rocks before I go on any trails. It is SOA with 35's...with a locker I should be able to have a little fun.

Austin are you talking about the motor Eric has in his garage ? If so BrowardDet it's complete , I seen it amonth or so ago when I bought the transmission and transfercase from him .

Yes thats the one, I think he may have a buyer for that with the full sm420 swap he has. Should know soon.

Yep, I picked it up after work on Friday and installed it in the middle of the night. Couldn't just leave it sitting there on the floor after bringing it home :D

Is nickswan grabbing it for "Black&Tan"? He was eluding to a swap in this build thread, thought it might be this one.. I pulled my head yesterday and it appears I had a burned/nasty valve on # causing the loss of compression. Dropped the head off this morning for a rebuild. Thanks for the help fellas!

GSMTR

gsmtr? What is it?? New guy to cen fl. Fj40

Great Smoky Mountain Trail Ride is the largest Toyota Land Cruiser Association sanctioned event east of the Mississippi River. TLCA affiliated clubs from almost every state east of the Mississippi and beyond are represented at this annual event. The event is limited to 175 trucks and will be held in Sparta, Tennessee at Golden Mountain Off Road Park. The facilities at the park are awesome with many trails from mild to wild. Rigs will also be from mild to wild. It is a lot of fun and a chance to meet people from all over with similar interests and appreciation for Land Cruisers. Southern Toyota Land Cruiser Association is organizing the event this year. There is a huge raffle and dinner on Saturday night. Some of us will caravan up together and you are welcome to join us...just let us know via a post. :steer:

I have some old photos still online!

I still have some online from years ago!

Here is link to all FLCA photos I have. You can just yank YOUR photos and put them on your computer.

LOL, I have been sort of "retired" from wheeling. ;) Maria basically drives the FJ Cruiser now.

I did see you on 56th a few months ago and honked but you probably did not recognize me on this!

I do more two wheeling than four wheeling now.

But I have since sold the Honda XR650L and the Yamaha FJR 1300 is for sale right now. I love the new Yamaha Super Tenere in the middle. It is my keeper!

I also picked up another 4x4, a 2012 Tacoma with all the 4x4 goodies!

And yes I did take the new Tacoma out already!!! :whoops: But it is not really for wheeling like the FJC. :steer:

Here is short video of me testing what the new Tacoma could do.

So look for me on the Super Tenere, or the Sliver Taco or the Blue FJC.

I think we just might, might have as many vehicle as you now... lol :D

You still wheeling?

I'm heading out in an hour or myself.

Had a great time this weekend! Nothing broke and I didn't add a whole lot to my 80's list of "to dos"

I do wish I'd been there Friday night, however. Next time!

Good meeting you Archie, Luis and Rocky - and of course all the rest of the family who isn't on Mud. After GSMTR we should plan on camping in Richloam - might not be a WalMart so close, but you don't have to pay to wheel and camp! Oh wait, you don't have power for coffee either! Eeek!

We tore it up alright...thanks to the "Cave Man" (Luis's neighbor) and the three of us:
We tore up three cases of beer and tore up the words to countless country songs,
Rocky tore up Tina Turner with his outstanding gyrating rendition around and around the campfire,
We tore up a 1.75L of Presidente Brandy without using a glass,
We tore up most of a pile of oak wood that could have lasted a week,
Rocky tore a hole in his tent screen so he wouldn't have to exit for a pit stop,
Hardrock7.jpg

We tore up the fishing hole catching bream and bass,
Luis tore up his transfer case trying to impress the "Cave Man",
Rocky tore up his drawers trying to stand his 40 on her ass,
Hardrock3.jpg
Hardrock6.jpg

We tore up "Cave Man's" catch for where she put her bow,
Hardrock2.jpg

We tore up camp chiggers for every twig and branch around,
Hardrock4.jpg

And we tore up 75 on Sunday with the "Cuban Caravan",
Hardrock5.jpg

LOL!...GREAT TIME!
