Yeah, I saw that on the thread, we both commented on it! Not having compression readings makes me worry, I don't Wanamaker do a swap just to have something go on that one shortly down the road. You said you could vouch for it, was it taken out for a V8 or other type of upgrade? Do you happen to have any particulars about it? Miles since rebuild, who did the rebuild, complete or partial rebuild, bored over, ect?

Jerry,
We took Austin's(40tude) head to Amtex Casting Repair in Tampa, just off I-4. The guy had a lot of spare heads laying around and at the time said he had a couple to replace austins if it wasnt repairable. Pretty good looking work too.

I will see what details I can get , it was pulled to do a full 1 ton drivetrain

Thanks for the input.

I sent an email to Powerhouse and will see what they say and go from there.

Any more progress?
You guys working on it this weekend?
I'll be in Orlando this weekend. I'd stop by if you guys are working on it.

Didn't see your comment earlier. You could have come over to the South of the Border tech session at Luis's. We were working on my reclaimed 60 with four generations of very intoxicated Hecho en Mexico personas. They were quite hilarious in their pre-Easter celebration...somewhat distracting but entertaining. We managed to accomplish a wheel and tire swap, home made front end alignment, inversion of the high steer rod end for better clearance, reconnect of the dangling engine blower fan wire, installation of a used winch, swapped the steel cable for synthetic line I had saved, installation of a Bully aluminum step so I can get in the thing...35's made it about 3" taller, and to end the celebration and please our neighborhood on lookers a serious torching of the high steer to bend it away from the tire to avoid the chance of "wall gash"...the ultimate outdoor entertainment. The crowd quickly dispersed when Luis and I decided to take it for a test run to the Racetrack for some fuel and a chance to converse in English. LOL! Rear locker is in route for a quick install prior to the Hard Rock "chicken run" (as Luis calls it) next weekend.

So how many Mexicans did it take ? Sounds like ya'll had a ball , Luis knows how to throw a party .

Speaking of Luis , did he survive Madalene when she got off work and seen her newly decorated living room ?

Hopefully it can be fixed . Do you have the 40 tore apart yet . If not are you and Rick coming next weekend ?

Luis and Astrid went into the house to tidy up things and Madalene pulled in the driveway. I talked to her as long as I could. It took her about 30 seconds to catch on. All hell broke loose and the Mexicans scattered like the candy in a well hit pinyata!

I would like to get there, 40 is still running great. Rick's runner is still without the steering gear, and rear locker seal is leaking. Too many things happening right now to work on it.

Want to bring up the kids for Sat.

Bret, when are you swaaping out those AA mounts and whatnot? I might be interested in grabbing them from you.

I have one out. Hopefully get holes drilled tomorrow. Are you swapping in a old SBC? Otherwise it would be easier to make new ones... Sounded like you were pulling for a F/2F?

Looks like we're going to have great weather for the weekend. Probably get up there Friday, early evening, and play all day Saturday.

I was just thinking the same thing about the weather today on my ride into work. Looking forward to it!

Should have the head pulled today on my F, still on the fence about the SBC...I figured I'd need the adapters and motor mounts eventually..
