Some don't know how to cook and go a mile up the road to one of 6-8 restaurants from Mc D's to Sonnys. I have a brand new coleman stove in the box you can have that a neighbor gave me last week...I already have one. Also extra tent if you don't want to sleep in you vehicle which you are welcome to use. Some, like Luis, are scared of the boogie man but there's nothing up there that eats humans. Don't worry about making any impressions as we are one big family and we'll see to it that no one gets left out and if you don't know how to do something and are eager to learn a few of us old timers will teach. We're a straight forward bunch that like to laugh and have fun.

Where in Orlando do you live? I live in Winter Park.

Heh. Actually, I had a ton of "thank you" points built up that I could never find anything worthwhile to spend on, but they DO have a lot of camping stuff, so I got a tent, air mattress and bag.

I've done backwoods camping before, but it's been a while. I really enjoy it and am looking forward to getting back into it. There's only two things that really bug me: the sun (I burn easy) and mosquitoes. Other than that, it's all good.

I don't care to sleep in my truck either - that would mean a rather tedious pack/unpack routine each time I wanted to go on the trail. Not fun.

I actually live in Clermont, but work down by Sand Lake & John Young.

I'll bring the stove...I don't have any room for it. You are welcome to it. If you don't want it someone else may or Luis will store it for a raffle prize. Don't forget your sun screen and repellent with 90% or more deet content...preferably the 100% if you can find it. It works without question. The skeeters won't be too bad yet but there will be some. Fire should be going 1/2 hour before dark when there out in force and that keeps most of them away. Unfortunately they love carbon dioxide and with this loud mouth group you're guaranteed they'll find us. We look forward to you being there.

Dang... if no one else wants that stove I will take it, I was just getting ready to buy one for our trip.

If CruiseOrlando doesn't want it I'll swap you for a Kent Feed sticker!
That's if they are allowed on 60 series. :hhmm:

Heh. I might take you up on that offer... but one way or the other it'll find its way to GSMTR anyway I think :)

What time are folks going to get there on Saturday? I assume there is a cut-off time for getting there? I have a yard sale I have to babysit, then I'm free.

What are the costs for camping & wheeling for the 2 days?

Tent camping $10.00 per night (primitive no hook ups)
4x4 per vehicle $25.00 per day
We'll probably get up there around 10:00 am and hit the trails in the afternoon. There's not a cut off time and we will be in and out of camp during the day. It's easy to find us as the park isn't that big and if you see a jeep ask where we are...they'll know. You can go to the web site for a map Hardrock Cycle Park - Cycles, ATV's, and 4X4's.

Need Some Help in SoFla

Hey all, it has finally come to be that my 12/74 F.5 must go. Number 5 cylinder is done and from everything I've read, it's gonna be too much to rebuild. So.. Does anyone in southern Florida have a 2F or SBC that they can part with that's in good shape?

Also, does anyone know a reputable Toyota shop in the area as well? Unfortunately I work too much to get anything done on mine in a reasonable amount of time in my single car garage.

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated. Just wanna swap in a new-er motor that I won't have to worry about for awhile.

-Josh

Thanks Archie. I've been there a couple of times, but I always got there at 10a, but never stay much past 2p. I overheard someone say something about a weekend camp/wheel 'package'? I think I've seen the camping area before.

3 speed or 4 speed? What kind of drivetrain are you looking for? If you get the drivetrain as one piece the swap can be done pretty easy. I don't think I would trust a stealership for a swap. There are a couple folks that do it for $$ or a few that could help.

It's a stock late 74 with a four speed. Want to go either 305 or 350 if I can't stay with the f.5 I have now. If I source the engine and adapters, do you know anyone that can do the welding for the motor mounts? That's all I think I can't do myself if I had to. Are you local?

3FE head...

I'm looking for a good 3FE head, the one I have has two cracks in it.

Thanks,
Jerry D.

Never had to weld up a head before, so, I don't know.

The motor mounts can actually be done without welding as well. The tranny/transfer support may be a little harder but is possible as well. I am switching out my old AA mounts and bolt on frame mounts for some DOM versions if you go the SBC route. I would consider a newer 5.3 as a swap but not an old style 305. A 383 is pretty sweet.

I concur , my friend on the east side . When the 6 finally gives out in mine , it will indeed get a sweet 5.3.

We have several here in Ocala , Power House , Titian , Bi-Low . Anyone of them should beable to fix it better than new .

Any more progress?
You guys working on it this weekend?
I'll be in Orlando this weekend. I'd stop by if you guys are working on it.

No progress, it is all about time. My current plan is to pull the front clamshell myself and then get some help regearing it. I have a bike trip coming up in early May that I have to get in shape for so that is taking my weekend time. I will keep you all posted on my progress.
