Sorry for the delay, my wife's Aunt passed Sunday and I had to take a trip to Georgia. I drove the FJC home Saturday. Luis and I were able to get the rear third member back in after a few hours. The repair on the broken abs wire took longer than expected. We could not clear the brake dash lights, after a lot of troubleshooting Luis's brother called out of the blue and explained the truck needed to be driven for the computer to sense all four tires and then it would reset; he was right. I decided that I will wait another weekend to rebuild the front diff.

Sorry to hear of ya'll's loss Greg .

Good idea on the front , gives you time to get that ARB .

Shake down run

Would anyone be interested in a Shake Down run at Hard Rock before we head to GSMTR ? I think we can hit it the weekend of the 14 & 15 of April .

I'm game.

Thanks for the info, im doing a frame off and going soa, did you notice how the soa was done, cut and turn? etc... how about the hard top, frame? it would save me a 10+ hour drive.

Yes if I can talk my pilot into it. I would like to know how he's flying. Lately he's been stuttering a bit. I'll check with him tomorrow and post up. Anybody else going up?

I think I can only manage on the 15th, as the 14th I have a few too many things going on to get there early enough.

I have a feeling one, two or three other Cruisers from the Lutz area will join us if they can...

The camp fire will be burning late on the 14th.
The "Lutz cruisers" need all the shaken down and shaken up they can get. If we can get them "chickens" raised up to roosters it'll be a miracle!

Doubt it will happen, wifes bday...but I will see. I still have an 80 to sell you Archie, you can't hide from.it forever

Good thing you edited that before I commented! That would have been grounds for super glue! Call me about that 80 anytime.

Has everyone registered for GSMTR ?

What about travel plans ?

What about a list of who's going ?

We didn't want to piss off Andrew...

I dont recall a whole lot about it other than rust and a few other odds and ends. I remember it has OEM power steering, but the res was pretty low. PS did not help much with turning the tires. OEM A/C was there. I dont think it had a OEM FJ40 tranny (reverse was not lower left on gear shifter). Winch was wired for front and back. Floor pans were quite rusty. It was geared pretty low too. Had a definate lean to one side as well.

have to get it ready for a multiweek Utah trip in June
Great time to go. Not too blazing hot out there yet. Pikes Peak isn't too far out of the way on the trip out.

When are you thinking of doing your axle?
Probably wait till after GSMTR. Don't want anything to go wrong. Not enough time to test the beta version plus get some spare axle shafts ready. Can't go w/o spares.

Just now registered. Still haven't nailed down a departure time. If my wife goes, we'll leave on Sat or Sunday and spend a couple of days in Nashville first.
If she doesn't, I'll ride up Sunday or Monday or convoy up whenever the rest of you go.

I won't be able to make the shakedown run. Have to work.
Other weekends don't look promising either :frown:

Previous members rig for sale

This ’79 FJ40 belonged to Tim Desselle who died in an auto accident a number of years ago. His family is finally at a point that they can part with their son’s cruiser.

I do not know anything about the cruiser except what I can see in the photos.

I received the following from Tim’s father:

Jerry:

I don't know whether you will remember this or not - but my son, Tim Desselle, was a member of your club years ago. Tim was killed in an auto accident in 2003. The only names my wife and I remember from the club were yours and a Jim Harrangody.I'm not even sure Jim's still a member - but that name just rings a bell. Anyway, we have had Tim's rig (Sasquatch) all these years - but now feel it's time to sell it. It's a 1979 FJ40. We do have all of the doors and the hard top. It has 36" Super Swampers, a Warn Wench and Lockers. We would like to get $3500.00 for the whole thing. We thought that possibly getting the info out to your club members might be a good way to reach some folks that would be interested.
We live in Palmetto and the rig is here. If interested, call Dale or Carole 941 721-0264.

Here are the pictures that his father sent along:
