I think mine is in better shape, Will you take a zoomed out photo so I know what part I'm looking?
If mine is better I'll send it to you.

From the Internet.

Top is what's cracked, but entire blower motor housings is well worn.

BVB's fuse box completed.

found mine, it too has cracks and chips; it too can be yous if you need...

fj60/62 firewall grommets can be trimmed (pie shape removed from circle) and fit to the fj55 firewall. the heater looks great!

BVB hard at work.

Unbeknownst to even Robbie, he started on a dealership line in '78, so spent a fair amount of time working on 40s and 55s.

All in, save the coupler I'm now hunting.

Hey Chris, I just got my a/c unit from Paul (3_puppies). Was your wiring harness already set up to accept the a/c unit or did your guy have to adapt the existing harness to work with the a/c unit. If so do you have a cheat sheet that I could copy? I also need to figure out how/where to wire the compressor and pressure sensor(?) to the a/c unit. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Mark

Mark,

The AC harness is, essentially, plug and play on the late 55s and I should have the wiring schematic on laptop at home.

The issues posed here are not much else is OE, therefore a lot of a 60/62 harness was/will be used for the compressor/engine bay since it's using all late 60/62 conponents.

If you're using the complete OE system, then it's a complete harness, based on comparison between the harness I had and schematic for installation.

Will send the request to BVB though, see what actual versus theoretical installation required.

Just back in town late last night and had been way out of the loop all week, so just found out about a local Mudder's death.

https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/one-of-our-own.846759/

Very sad and way too young.

Fragility of life ringing true.

Oh man, that is no good... I wonder how it happened? In my mind, the Dad was a hero to the end and protected his son to the very end.
I'll take a look at what can be spared and sent over.

I'll be watching for this info as well, since my 3FE swap has some 62 wiring, and wanting to add the AC soon...

TIA

Man - how'd Robbie get BVB out of retirement?

I had no involvement in, but stoked he's on board, as is Robbie.

Having spent a lot of time communicating with Robbie over the course of several years, I've a utmost respect for him as a trusted, capable mechanic, advisor, teacher, and friend.

Very, very humble.

I saw him in a pic, giving a tutorial at the FJC Summit, and in discussions about, I said "the legend, himself".

He replied, "Who's that?"

Ha.

Anyhow, when HE says someone knows their chit and fortunate that they're working on a project, as he did BVB, one pays particularly close attention.

As corny as it sounds, going to commemorate both of 'em, somehow, along with many others who've been critically involved.

I'm kinda ghey, like that.

(Edited: Not taking chit about usage of the term, since it's NOT about orientation, of which I do not care, nor bigoted against. :flipoff2: )

Thanks Chris, I'm actually wanting to use a more modern compressor and condenser setup. I'm not sure if the old compressor is even usable, very hard to turn by hand. I have no harness for the engine bay, so I'm at a loss for what I will need for wiring. I'm also assuming that the a/c control must some how tie into the fan switch that controls the heater. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to, and what to connect this end that is coming off the a/c unit. Sorry for the hijack. I can pm you for more questions.
