Definitive List of Yearly Changes?

I think the way the year breaks are placed in the post is confusing.

for example, '68 model year is missed. early turn signals did not last as long as the marker lights that are in the grille.

what are the mini scoops anyhow?

I am pretty sure that the heater redesign was 9'/73, and at the same time, the a/c got its big change, to go from a stand alone unit(with its own fan) to the in the heater blower duct evaporator at the same time.

four speeds showed up 9/'73 best I can tell. my fj55, a 9/'73 had a three speed but a four speed skid plate. a fj55 a looked at was 300 trucks newer than mine and it had a stock four speed.

I have a may '76 and the ammeter is present, but the list says 77.

I will go through more, but I might have to break out the microfiche.

Sounds good. I pulled that list from the internet somewhere. I think broken down by month would be cool.

I'd be willing to put some research in to get a list. Maybe we could break up some years and let others help.

I've found Spector is a good place to find differences. I also have the EPC which is usefull.

it's just a matter of model year vs. mfr date. like the 4 spds....9/73 may be when they came out, but that late in the year would be marketed as a 74 model, which is what the other thread shows as having 4spds.

another problem is some stuff comes out on a handful of vehicles in the month before the model year split, so they may actually be on one that's titled as a 73, but would actually be a 74 model if it was built a week later.
