Coming up: prime and paint the front bumper and sliders, removing the bed, assessing the frame damage, deciding whether to bob the bed or build a flatbed. :D

Looking back thru the pictures, I spy some D'Animal style porn....

How do you like the bumper? I was looking into the 4xinnovations one, but I didn't like it from his pictures, but I like how it looks on your truck.

p.s.- RUST!!!!

I really like how much lighter it is than the old one. With the addition of the headlight guards, I think it'll be more than adequate. I'm curious how much it deflects, if any, under a load from the winch. I'll be swapping the XD9000 on my 40 onto this truck and putting a 8274 on the cruiser.

P.S. - gonna handle the rust when I get everything that needs painting prepped.

LOL

Chain Saws, BrushCutters and Snakes.

Your rig is coming along very nice!

Damn, you are GOOD!!!!!! I didn't know you could see the saws until I looked again!

Thanks, more to come this weekend. Drive shafts and bed removal. Should be a short list.

Well, nothing ever goes as easy as it should, but it got done anyway.

Well, I've decided to bob the bed. Money (or lack of) dictates that I bob it for now, may flatbed it later.

A question for all of you......

Is it easier to pull the inner bed skins out before cutting it down or should I just leave it all together and go for it?

It depends on how you cut it. I think that I get the neatest edges by using a skilsaw with a cutoff blade for the long cuts and I use a reciprocating saw to reach in to the corners, but that means disassembly. My brother likes to mock up a straight edge and use the plasma, cutting inside & out then disassemble to weld. He thinks I do it the hard way. I think he does it the hard way. He is wrong of course.

What about a sawsall with about 10 metal blades?

Yeah man that will get it done, in fact we did Spot that way. I'll take some pics when I get home. I just don't like to use the sawzall for long straight lines because of my lack of coordination. I cut it crooked then it's a pain in the to weld up. What ever tool you enjoy the most is the best tool for the job.

This is an older pick-up, with a single wall bed, but these pictures show what happens when I try to make long straight cuts with a reciprocating saw. Basically what you have access to is what you're gonna' use, so go for it with the sawzall, it's going to look fine.

Any Updates?

Nothing. Spent the last two days working for a friend..........slashing, brushing, burning. Today was family time. I looked at it a couple of times. Soon, I promise. ;)
