What buckets are you going to run?

I got that other xfer case and thinking about re-gearing it and throwing it in behind my current setup. If I have any money left over from this engine overhaul.

I've got a line on some really sweet Tacoma buckets I'm considering.

I thought about that, too. Marlin's website has a really nice writeup on it and you could just buy the gears from them.

the G52 won't last behind the 4.3. Find an R151 or R150.

Why not? Marlin's folks seem to think it'll do fine, depending on my driving habits. :hhmm:

You can weld new tips onto the frame rails if you want. I'll be doing that with mine after I finish the transmission work.. Those frame rail tips seam to be a sacrificial part when it comes to being tail ended.

That's a good idea, if I didn't want to bob it and flatbed it.

since that frame bent when it rolled the trailer, I think the best way to address it is to bob it.
Since I just bobbed mine, there is no doubt now that i should have done it a long time ago.
Not only does it look bad ass, but its gonna really help out on the trail.

with dual cases, you want to kill rocks, and departure is critical.

plus once the bed is done, you can make a killer bumper like i did, with just as important recovery points, to , you know, pull out stuck jeeps. cause when you get the 5.29 and lockers, you will be unstoppable

Amen to that, brutha! My front bumper will be similar to my FJ40 or perhaps an ARB, while my rear bumper will be totally custom. Here's the front of my '40. Come to think of it, I could make the rear bumper very similar to my '40's as well.

Taco buckets bring the suck. Find some celica seat. Millions times better!

Thanks. The Taco buckets fell thru. I'll be looking for some celica's.

or since you swing both ways, you *hoped* it was pink? :flipoff2:

speaking of seats- my buddy just sold his mint condition 85 SR5 22RE for $5500, so I cant get pics. It has the nicest SR5 seats I have ever seen. printed on them was a million, (maybe 2 million :flipoff2:) SR5 logo's. They are much more comfortable and nicer than the soft taco (not tacoma/taco) seats I am currently hurting my back with now.

for some reason i always thought your 40 was pink

It's not? :meh: I'm color-blind.

I'll keep that in mind. I'd just like to find a nice set soon!

These are on my local CL for $150. Are these Taco SR5s or what???

In perfection condition very comfortable and best of all very safe. They are srs airbag seats so they have a side impact airbag in the seat. I have the driver and passenger bucket seats.

Those look like comfortable seats and a great price. Only $150 for both of them.

You should go give them a test ride see how they are.

I'd love to. IF I COULD FIND THEM AGAIN!!!!!!!!! FAWK!!!!!

OTOH, this dude emailed me a pic of his. What do you think?

the other ones look cooler. They look like they came out of a car my grandma would drive

My wife says the black one's would show cum stains worse, but look more comfortable. I found them and emailed the guy. Bonus: my wife will be about 20 miles away from them tomorrow! Hopefully she can go look.

I like your rig!

I would do the chebbies in the rear and either waggy's or rears up front ASAP... no reason other than the long springs will be a huge advantage and a cheap mod. The chevy's ride great....

any chance you'd consider a GM auto behind the 4.3?

BTW, Supra buckets are nice and close to bolt up, and they have auto adjustments... and are cheap.
