Daystar FJ40 body mounts, late model

Unfortunately I bought this kit from Amazon and only after finding the misfits I found this thread. As I understand from above, my email to daystar support won't be helpful as well.

So I will probably perform the following changed:
1. Will enlarge the lip hole of lower cushion to fit the metal in chasis in position 1.
2. Create 2 new larger diameter bushings and enlarge the lip hole of lower cushion in position 2.

Question: Did anyone was able to remove/replace the bolts in position 2? Mine seems to be one piece with the bushing and welded to the body (see pictures).

Thanks

Sorry. When saying position 2 I meant position 3 on daystar drawing (which is not accurate anyway)

That flat piece covering the bolt head is a clip. It slides off. The bolt head has a tab on it that keeps it from rotating when you put the nut on it. Try something like pb blaster to free up that inner part of the bushing from the bolt.
Thanks. Not sure which piece slides and to which direction....can you mark on the picture please?

BTW- I see you used the cushion of positions 1 (left part on picture below) in position 2 instead of what daystar suggest (right part on my picture below)? If so, any particular reason?

Thanks
At the time I did it I had a reason. I think it was because the rearward locations are the same setup so it didn’t make since to use different hardware on them. I played around with it awhile until I got something I liked.

So...a quick update (hope it helps someone):
I finally installed the set after struggling releasing the middle rusted screw.
The installation is pretty straight forward one you make the following preparations:
1. Took 2 of M02850 and 2 of M02421 and created a 31mm diameter and 3mm deep opening (to accommodate the round tooth on the frame holes in back and front)
2. Created 2 sleeves to accommodate the large diameter of the hole on the M02388
See pictures...

The only thing I didn't figure out how to remove are the cushions on position 4 (M02201). I took one off but the was some screw that broke...

What did you make that cutt with? Mine did not look nearly as nice.

@MOTOV8R how did you replace the old cushions above the rear axle? They are attached with a screw or something but no access to release...

My rear floor was completely rusted and I welded a new one in. I didn’t have to remove the old ones. I welded a locator (short piece of bolt or round stock) to the body mount pad.
Thanks. I'll figure it out...maybe I'll break the screws and put the new ones with some rtv....in any case it's under pressure.

11/28/2025 Just got kit from CCOT. Still same problem with fitting to my 1982 FJ40 , as described since 2015!
I am not modifying my frame nor making modifications on a kit that supposedly sold as a replacement. Instructions are incomplete, inaccurate as are the individual parts. CCOT claims it’s a new kit to replace the many that have been returned in the past. Pure BS!! They don’t even have the “cogones” to mention that this is a “Daystar” mounting kit in the description of their product. I will return these immediately, and never trust any thing CCOT sells in this deceptive way, knowingly a defective, incomplete product described for the past 10 years!!
