Lol. Man, I’m back down in Wilmywood for the 1st time in 4 years. I can’t believe the way this ransomeware thing hit. We went out to lunch today and there were gas lines that went around the block like it was the ‘70s. I’m just hoping they have enough Jet A this Thursday so I can hope for my boys’ 13th. I don’t want to earn another ONSC dad of the year raspberry.

With full disclosure I once did that to the Jetta. Thankfully the PD engine is one of the much more forgiving "new" diesel engines to do that it.
We were coming back from Kenny's Lake House the following morning after a party in Logan's honor. I was hung over and most likely got about 2 hours of sleep. My brain reverted to diesel pump handle green (as it is in two states i've lived in, forgetting that in NC that wasn't the case), we were nearly on empty. Filled up..... got about 2 miles down the road and the car stopped.
Got it towed home.... drained the entire tank, replaced the fuel filter, took the rubber lines off and cleaned them out in a diesel bath. Filled it back up and it started right up. Only cost me a new fuel filter. I did have to replace the lift pump but that wasn't because of the gas but I broke the nipple off while taking a line off of it.
Now if this had been a 2010 or newer jetta, it would have been a major issue.
