Oh well, it was funny while it lasted.
Just like the whole solar panels deal - a bunch of BS "reporting" at the cost of North Carolina's reputation. People sure LOVE to try and make the people of our state look as ignorant as possible and perpetuate the myth that if you have a southern drawl, you MUST be dumb as a box of hammers.
The follow up stories on the solar farm town did not refute the statements made by the mentally challenged villagers at the public hearing, but did explain a deeper truth that they had enough solar farms in their town and didn't feel the need for another.
So I can still laugh and point at the we-tah-ded statements made by a retired science teacher.

Yep, but the problem I had was everywhere I saw it "reported" tried to make it out like the Town itself made these statements, not the village idiot. Picking on NC and other southern states is a common pastime, but I'll point no further than the "enlightened" electorate of 12th District of California that has repeatedly elected Nancy Pelosi, to show just how widespread stupid people TRULY are everywhere.
Agreed that they reported the story like the village idiots were the deciding vote. Here's a rebuttal made by one of the residents to the very source of the initial article, and who also attended the infamous public hearing.
