Recently I bought a Prius Throttle Body assembly from Rock Auto… came in a Beck Arnley box for $300 shipped to my door. Inside the box was a clear bag with a AISIN part inside with Toyota labels on two sides of it. From the Dealer it was $1200 + Tax. The Toyota package is not worth $1000 to me.

When I worked at lordco I noticed the beck Arnley stuff often had oem parts inside...

I could see the word Toyota in some of the pictures.

The Beck Arnley TREs I bought were the sought after 555 joints for a fraction of the cost of OEM and without a VIN number for the vehicles they were for.

Surprisingly a 60 bottle fits pretty well in there.

For no reason other than feeling like it, I hammered a little bracket out of a scrap of sheet metal to look like something Toyota ish. :meh:

Haha for the amount I drive this thing in the dark, I'm not sure why I'm actually doing it at all..

other than boredom and avoiding what I should be doing of course.

Poser....

What I should be doing is running the 3/0 battery cable I got a bigass coil of up to the front.

My winch is pretty anemic at the end of the current cable run.

Downside to moving the batteries out of the engine bay, but still worth it.

Well only took me 3 months to get to it.
Got this cheap from the guy I bought my mill from.

😁😁

I wanted a disconnect for the winch, so I grabbed a blue sea switch. 2-5/16 hole. Because I guess **** you that's why 🙄

For when your s***ty old hole saw isn't quite big enough. :hillbilly:

This this is actually for sailboat rigging, but it does a pretty good job crimping battery lugs.

I was a little paranoid about chafe where the cable goes into the battery box, so outside of the plastic split loom , I cut a piece of tin, wrapped it with tape, then wrapped it about the loom. Should take a while to wear through that.

Luggage.

Done aside from vacuuming up all this s***.

Winch sounds a lot perkier now. I'm sure it has to be better, I cut about 5' out of the run and probably doubled the wire size.

One other minor thing...a holder upper for the battery box lid. Because my skull has enough dents in it.

Figured it could double as a leash anchor point if the mutts ever come with.

You will never know how annoying not having this has been for the last 3 years 🤣

Looks like that crimper does a great job. I've got a crimping tool that I bought for making up some battery cables. If anyone would like to borrow them, let me know.

This is what I removed from the winch lead. Almost as long on its own as the new 3/0 cable, and that was only from the firewall.

But, I used what I had at the time. :meh:

3/0 is not something you want to have to buy in a hurry.

Means I should be able to use my gin pole again. Haven't needed it much since I got the tractor, but it's nice to have.

Roof off day, and I bought a bestop from Jonathan so I'm playing around with it.

Had to make one of these because apparently despite having a crap load of s***ty old ws frames, I only have 1. 🙄
PXL_20240507_203947863.jpg

I removed the second hoop and things actually line up remarkably well.

PXL_20240507_214711491.jpg

Hard to pull it tight with all this extra material bunched up, but these zippers should line up pretty nicely right at the corners. Just like I planned it 🤣🤣

PXL_20240507_215547810.jpg

Just a little extra material...💩

PXL_20240507_214829180.jpg

I might add that second hoop in as an extension of the door post. Like the fst frames. I can make it adjustable .

I think it'd help with the loose area these tops always have over your head.

Back to work tomorrow for 4, then I'm off for most of a month so I'll see if I can get me old mum to assist with the industrial machine while she still knows who the **** I am. 🤣

Those are better clarity than the phone pics. Cool how that window lined up. When I get home in 7 weeks I figure it
should almost be done. Have to come take a look. J

Well im looking at the weather and dam it would be a good time to take the top off the bandeirante for the first time. I have some defrost ducts to cut out of the firewall to window frame.
