Funny how you weld a bunch of s*** together it and it gets heavy...

Pulled it off to weld underneath and give it a s***ty coat of paint.

I contemplated going for a mediocre coat of paint, but opted for s***ty instead. :hillbilly:

And, was reminded why I kinda hate stainless hardware. One of the forward bolts decided to gall halfway on. So now I'll have to see if a fresh zip disc can reach in there to cut it.

Then I guess I'll dig out some wood to deck it...

Needed a work bench to mess with windshield frames. Thought I could get away with only taking two apart, but nope. It's gonna be 3. :bang:

Also might be useful as an elevated platform for my upcoming fistfight with a rather large racoon. Tho, that sounds like a pretty good job for steve. :flipoff2:

Only a test fit on that headache rack, but I think it'll work with some minor adjustments.

Truck is looking really great Ryan; nice work. Can't believe how quickly you pulled this project together.

Thanks, it helps if you stand back a few feet...:hillbilly:

Couple years ago my work switched to 4 on 4 off 12hr shifts. Makes it so I have a lot more time at home, only 2 out of 8 I'm at work during the day. Long shifts kinda suck but it's worth it for the extra time off.

Had to up my napping game to get used to it.

The magic of condoms helped with the free time too. :p

I guess was a matter of you getting through that move etc. too....

Ah yes....the things I could have accomplished in life if I'd stuck with the rubber. They say kids cost $200k each by the time their 18. I got two. And the time? A couple hours a day for 18 years....13k hours? That's another $500k in hourly rate. :bang: Oh the Toyotas I could have built.....

By the time we have another meet, you'll probably have that thing insured and on the road. Looking forward to checking it out.

Haha, yeah. NEVER complain about the price of rubbers...

And yeah, there was a fair bit of house s*** to get sorted before I could get into a cruiser project. I've mostly held off the rotten old house from falling down on it's own now, evicted most of the infestations, and got the yard beaten into submission. Took a bit, place was a mess, but still. Pretty fun place to live once the work levelled off to manageable levels.

Swmbo is making noises about having a bit of a pissup again this year, so who knows. Maybe we get enough cruisers in one place we could call it a meet.

The yellow peril draws closer as we speak.... Party time.

We could drill out the holes of a propane campfire and heat a 100lb bottle, should do the trick between hunts. I'm so in it isn't funny.

Swmbo had been making noises about the 22nd but I don't know if zee eurotrash is around still or if it's jetsetting off to some soiree at a vineyard by then...so might just have to find an earlier date.

Have to see if someone can round up our elusive ex president too, I might need my half doors back this summer. :grinpimp:

Just because it makes @Rigpig so happy when I post pictures of me being inappropriate with a wood lathe...:flipoff2:

While waiting for paint to dry, I decided to unseize my windshield hinges. The plastic bushings were in the usual state of plastic bushings, so I adjusted some bronze bushings from a wheelchair swivel that I rescued from the dumpster many moons ago. :hillbilly:

Be nicer if that flange was a bit bigger, but as an eloquent dude I used to work with would say,

" You can only **** with the **** you're born with".

Story of my life...

And now, smooth as a gravy sammich.

Its all about the little things in life.

Haha yeah its pretty cool. Some bumpers are made for looks , this one is made for roadkill.

Even had delivery included by the silver fox himself

Just pegged on there for now. Plan is to cram it as close to the bib as I can with the winch in there.

Should be quite a bit closer than it would be on a 40 frame.

Suddenly have some Soundgarden in my head.

This should keep the tall people from driving the truck at least.

It's a s***ty cage, I don't like much about it, other than that I already had it, but it'll let me put seatbelts in and hang a bikini for the summer.

Once I have a top sorta together I'll make a new one, so I know how far I can go to maximize headroom. The fore and aft bars on this are brain injuries waiting to happen and I had to extend the back legs with some poo pipe. :meh:

List for a test drive is getting shorter tho.

Seatbelts, some half doors (ahem...:flipoff2:) a muffler, and I guess I should probably fasten down the planking on the deck

I'm off for another week. Mostly building the shed, but it's too freaking hot from about 10-2 so I'll have some time for this thing.

Never been closer.

(and mr @GTSSportCoupe , I tried to pm you but it wouldn't let me? It was about frogs and beer...)

I could lend, as in borrow, you a set of half vinyl doors for a while if you like so you can drive it.
I’m home next week. I just don’t want to let the doors go forever
