I was seeing only outer CV yellow bands on all new OEM FDS, until about a year ago. Now I'm seeing more silver bands. Either a change in manufactures, or supply line issue on clamps is the thinking.Does anyone have any insight on when Toyota started selling FDS / CV axles with the 2 yellow bands on the outer boot? @2001LC you buy more of these than others here I think! x2. I just rebuilt a set with new outer tulips and joints and they came with double yellow bands, but the set before these came with one yellow and one silver on the outer tulip. The boots and clamps on it aren’t original. I would not buy that axle unless you plan to rebuild it with a new outer joint and tulip ($200). 9/10 chance the outboard splines are obliterated.Thanks @2001LC and @JunkCrzr89 !
These are used from Craigslist that I posted the picture of. Think these are OEM original to a 98 LX or a more recent replacement?

Did the part number for your outboard shaft and boot kit end in a 5 or 6? (If you recall).x2.
