Yooper, I looked at the seats in your rig while in Colorado but I don't remember the details other than appeared newly upholstered. Are they mine truck seats? Are they comfortable and are you satisfied with them? I'm trying to decide what to put in mine and wondering if there is a better option. I'm 6'2" and I want a comfortable seat. Just asking for you advice and opinion.
Thanks

They are mine truck seats that have been custom reupholstered. They must have new foam too because they are firm and comfy. I am quite happy with them.

I am only 5' 7" though.

One caveat: I have no head rests because the mine truck didn't have any. This bothers me a bit. New Toyota ones are $$$. Not sure what to do about that.

I will echo what gifu said, the right bench would hold two children comfortably but it more like 1 1/3 seats for adults. Also I wish I would have thought of front and rear storage pockets, that would be super handy, storage is indeed lacking in this cab.

I am shopping for a center console for the tranny hump. There isn't much room there. Has anyone found one that fits? I might have to build one myself. I need a cupholder!

cool your rig got the extra dash pod which wasnt avl in the 79 and also got jesus bars on both pilars, normaly you only get one on the drivers side ,i put a the passenger side one in my 79 the other week.

The quarter windows..under the door rubber seal there are 3 screws holding the q windowframe in and below the lowest screw is another hole about the screw size but its the drain hole (i guess). this can leak water in down to the frame under which holds the q glass n rubber and traps water and if left long enough will rust out like mine did, lucky for me there is plent avl in Aus so no prob to replace, even lucker i have some full glass im putting in to bail the q windows.

google image kzj78 to find a pic of the consol

I have hear they dont fit snug to a 79 floor as there different around the gearstick spot to the 75s and others

this is a glimse of the rear section top, i could go take a pic of the complete unit if you wish...

Does that soft top still have the original yota plastics on the doors etc

i am not sure Yooper will enjoy the tangent but yes it did when it came in, it had 21,000 original km on it.
7 years later and it has 29,000 on it.

off topic tangent is fine

Thanks for the photos, that won't fit between my seats, there is almost no room between them, the seat belt brackets actually touch each other. The front section would fit if I cut the rear half of it off but then I'd only get that one rectangular pocket, not worth it. Also it looks like my emergency brake handle extends forward more; mine goes well past the front edge of the seats.

The tranny hump is the only space I can do anything with and it's pretty crowded. Proffitt's built some really nice custom speaker boxes and overhead console, I should have encouraged them to tackle this spot too. Actually if I had thought ahead I could have had them put in two driver's seats to make more room.

here I took a couple phone pictures to demonstrate how little space there is between the seats. You can see in the first photo that the passenger seat is wider and flatter and you can see where the extra seat belt comes out for the middle passenger. I have a piece of axe handle and a Woodman's Pal down in there right now.

ah, you have the split bench ... my bad, i thought you had the two buckets.
i love the split bench, lots of room for the mutts to sit.

seats

You've given me an idea, get two drivers seats and that will give me more room for a pistol....I mean drink holders. Do you remember how much the seats ended up costing?

Honestly that unit would probably be more useful than the unit Wayne showed (same one I have in my truck)

I am a fan of the split bench

Yooper Post your overhead console!

They came with the mine truck donor vehicle, so there was no itemized seat cost. I could look up the reupholstery charge maybe, but that wouldn't mean much to you.

I already did, this pic was posted a while back, look at post #193

What you can't see is that there are two 12V sockets in each forward cubby hole and the 2M and CB radios are installed in it on the driver's side, and there is a cubby hole accessed from the driver's side in the center portion. Also a map light in the back. The speakers in the corners are tweeters, part of a four speaker system.

The only thing I would ever replace my front split bench seat with would be a 105series std front bench seat , when no one is in the middle seat a small part of the middle back rest folds down to be a arm rest and has two cup holders in it.

Headrests
Yooper, mine didn't have headrests either. I was able to use FJ60 parts. The headrest width was same, but the plastic inserts that go through the fabric into the metal frame were a little different. The FJ60 ones work, mostly.
