Have the engine out for a few reasons, primarily because I'm getting the nv4500 rebuilt and replacing the clutch. While it was out, I decided to make it look pretty. Cerakoted so many things, I'm really curious to see how it holds up in an engine bay. Also did a few little mods I've had on the back burner because it's easier with the engine out, like 4k governor springs and 60lb valve springs. Waiting for my top hat style valve stem seals and I'll finish the 60lbs and then it's mostly ready to go back in. More than half my stem seals had walked off the seats - probably due to my relatively high boost pressure.

Also doing a "full" wire tuck while I'm in there. Ideally there will only be two visible harnesses, one on each side. One for the alternator, oil pressure sensor, egt probe and block heater. and one for the FSS, fan temp switch, and starter solenoid wire. Batteries will be relocated to the rear, primarily to give me some much needed engine bay space. Also planning on covering my original intercooler piping holes and re-routing said pipes in a much more tucked location. No more block mounted lift pump and fuel filter, those are going under the rig on the frame.

I'm debating cerakoting my steering box and a few other bits to make the engine bay stand out, but I'm running out of steam for media blasting.

Man that coating looks great. You have a local company doing it or is it something you can do yourself since you’re doing so many parts? 😂

It's something I do myself! We've got a whole setup going to do air cure and oven cure cerakote :) working towards being able to do things as large as wheels in the near future, too.

Little sneak peek! Engine is in, getting things wired and such now.

I fvq'd around and found out.

Made a 4" snorkel out of some cheap stainless. I'm honestly surprised with how it turned out, while I'd do some things just ever so slightly different if I did it again I absolutely will not complain about it. The v band is so I can rotate the inlet in tasty months if needed. Now, to fab up an air box!
