updates.....

Latest updates on the build at this time are unknown.
What I do Know...
I now have 3 children,I have had no job for the last 6 months, (but the personal cleaning business is still going), seems to be a bit hard to find work these days in a "right to work state" :ban:
Other than that, I am still waiting on some pictures to show what all has been done since the last installment plan. Ill call russ or rob after the holidays to see where everything is at. Should be darn near ready to at least start. no bells or whistles yet, but everything else should be 90% there.
Next year is a new year, I hope to have my cruiser back in my driveway, and beable to take her out sometime. Well see what happens.

-Ron

I am excited as you are to see your build........ but, i must also say that i hope the delay in the build has been due to shortage of funds and not how long it takes these guys to work!? Otherwise, this build has taken way too long. I totally understand and can relate to huge reduction in income and lack of "cruiser money"

So, I just spent an hour or so reading through this whole post. I was hoping to eventually see a very nice 6BT conversion, along with a bunch of other cool but perhaps unnecessary mods. What a let down. I'm sure it'll be extremely cool when finally finished. I've made my mind up though. I'll just accept that my 80's factory engine sucks down gas, park it, and buy a Dodge truck with a nice Cummins, probably the 5.9. I need more towing ability.

Does anyone know of a kit, or parts, like the Marks adapter, that would simplify a diesel transplant?

There are a few motor conversions you can do to your 80 IE: 4bt, I-5 out of a H3, or, buy a turbo manifold from landtank and make a nice, relatively in-expensive turbo for your fzfe.

I can't believe that this still isn't done. I remember 3 1/2 years ago I posted up on supraforums about me maybe buying my 80 series and you posted up pics of your 80 with the 6bt sitting in the engine bay and led me to this site. I think i'd go crazy if my 80 had been sitting in a shop this long waiting for work.

I've got a 97 long bed extended cab 4x4 12 valve Cummins Dodge if you are interested....

Oh yeah? How much are you looking to get for it?

Asking $9900. Shoot me a pm and I'll try and get some pics together. Sorry for the hijack, I'll post it in the classifieds with some more specific info.

Portal-tek is out of business, so I have a feeling the update will not be a good one :frown:

OUCH! I can only hope that he was able to balance the books and get his money and times worth up until this point. This has been such an anticipated build and everytime I see the thread reborn I get excited, but it is always someone asking for an update on the build, lol. The shop I use out here in So Cal would have knocked out that truck in 6months.

Judging by the number of people that got royally screwed out of thousands of dollars on the Super14 axles, I'm guessing they probably didn't settle up on anything :frown:

Hello there all,
No nothing good to report:mad:

Nothing good at all,...

My total loss, ... $40,000. $10,000 of that being the truck.

so, If anyone knows where I can find Rob Hardy, or if anyone knows his
S.S. number, and wants to pm or email it to me at ShoulderMan@Yahoo.com
Please feel free.

What I have left is a shell of my truck and 2 boxes of parts. he even took my front windshield. why i dont know, I guess while he was cleaning out the shop of anything he could get on to the moving trucks and what not he decided what the hell, might as well take anything that will fit. ( it seems he had some friends helping him move out over the weekend of Fu@*&%g over the customer.)

I had been in contact with Russel untill last month, where my calls we no longer responded too. ive called many times, always leave a message, looking for an update of whats going on, but nothing.

Now as far as I know, Rob has a whole bunch of parts, and finished axles, where he is oging to store that amount of STOLEN goods i do not know,

But as far as I can understand, the man STOLE everything from the shop as he is not the sole owner, not only that he has STOLEN from the company, the investers, and the customers. and please correct me if im wrong but the term EMBEZZLEMENT comes to mind, which is also a statutory offense

So, ... yeah....

Anyways, thats my update

:censor::eek::bang:

That's not cool at all! Good luck!

Well for a quick update, at 6:14pm Russel did call back, I missed the call, but he called none the less.
I do have to say other than the no call back responce as of late, Russel has been on board with helping me out as best as he can. ever since he found out he and the other customers were screwed over, he at least made the unfortuanate calls to everyone to let them know the bad news.

DUUUUUUUUDE....

So all you have is a frame and body? No drivetrain at all, 6b is gone MIA... all of it GONE....

I'm way sorry man, have you thought about legal recourse?

-Matt

A guy like that definitely leaves a trail. Hire PI and find out where he is at. Press charges and collect on your merchandise. VERY sorry about this mess. If there is anything I can do to help please do ask. I'm out in So Cal should you find out that he made his way out here. I'm sure the MUD network can work at finding out where this guy is hiding. Hope it all works out well and we can help.

No I still have my 6bt, ATS transmission, and Atlas 4 speed transfer case, as they were all bolted togeather. so thnakfully I still have them.
