Yea you can keep stock manifold.

Thanks, maybe I'll look into that down the road some. For now, hoping between this turbo and a better filter setup that I can drop egts significantly. I'll add my water meth setup soon too and that should help with heavy throttle.

Got myself an HE351, not sure when I'll be able to get it installed though.

Picked up an AFE pro dry cone filter and got that mounted. My EGTs dropped about 100* cruising. IDK

Got the new booster. Brakes are way better but... still not able to lock up the fronts. Fxxxing POS is pissing me off.

Ordered a proportioning valve so I can dial back the rear brakes as those are locking up much too easy and pitching me sideways. Even if I stay on the brakes though, on dirt, I can't quite get the fronts to lock up but they're definitely doing a lot more than they were.

So... new 1 5/16 chevy master, new fzj80 booster, new lines, new 3/4 ton chevy jb6 calipers, new rotors, new pads, new shoes, new wheel cylinders.

I'm hoping by some act of god that when I get the prop valve in I can somehow get the fronts to lock.

Keep wondering if a T100 cylinder wouldn't fix this. Maybe 1 5/16 can't generate needed pressure. Volume needed should be reduced by these 3/4 ton calipers.

Did my first shakedown run. Everything worked pretty well, my fuel tank leaks pretty bad though, and my hydro assist isn't that awesome at low RPMs, and I got in a few spots leaning on the front tires pretty heavy and it didn't want to turn for s***, gonna have to look into pumps or something I guess... IDK I already modded the pump a little. Links and 63s work fxxxing awesome. It was a really long boulder filled dry wash. It was kind of comical, 1st gear 4low and I let out the clutch and it idled through almost every 'obstacle'. I only had to re spot in a couple of places, I actually did diff one rock hard enough it stopped us flat out, diff cover held up! Drove by brail and pretty well walked everything, better than a CJ on tons and 40s! There wasn't anything too challenging but it was awesome to ease right through things that I would have struggled with in the Tacoma on 35s. There were a handful of pretty stock solid axled rigs and they had a fair bit of trouble, lots of tire spinning getting hung up and spotting, it was pretty slow going. 4 door JK rubi on 35s had quite the time.

So uhh... I mounted my puma compressor on the fender with using the existing bolt holes on the top, with plans to add a brace later. Well uhh one trip and she broke all the spot welds lol. Got that welded up good now, and added a brace. Hopefully no more problems!

Pulled the pan to reseal and so I figured I'd pull a rod and main cap while I was in there and check out bearings. This was #6. Looks okay for somewhere north of 200k!

Realized I scraped the ram on some rocks so looks like I'm going to need to make a skid for that too.

Dropped the tank tonight to reseal it as the leak was getting worse.

Swapped to a 93 w250 master cylinder, 1 1/8 and added a willwood proportioning valve. Need to bleed and see what happens!

I have similar concerns with my brakes on my 4bt swapped 80 Series. I'm running 315/75r16 tires and feel like I have s*** stopping power. So far, I've just upgraded the front brake pads.

I measured vacuum from the p/s pump and I think it was around 20 psi...

So I Td my gauge into it and the second I touch the brakes, bye bye vacuum. If I shut off vac to the booster it took about 2:00 to drop from -25 to almost 0

Just fyi

So do you think this indicated that the booster was bad? If you had to guess, would you say it was ultimately replacing the old booster with a new OEM booster that significantly increased your braking power?

Definitely!

I was definitely fighting the booster, from there it was getting the right master.
