I got a copy of that. It's pretty funny to read. The performance statistics are impressively slow.

I have tag (found in the p.o. box today). Most of all I am looking forward to some time off, and checking out some new country near the upper end of Aravaipa Canyon this fall.:bounce::bounce2:

Its YJeff and I think he is leaving within a week or two at this point. Had some delays...

Ah ok. Does he have a contact and deadlines set up. I heard he has done this before. But the world is an angry place now days.

yes, between being this is his third out of country expo and being an information hound, he seems pretty well prepared. About the only country he is avoiding in SA is Venezuela where it is reportedly not a very safe place to visit these days...

I saw Jeff this weekend. He is trying to get his diesel LC all tuned in. Since he has been delayed, his wife is trying to figure out her work schedule.
I look forward to his trip updates.

Safe travels @yjeff

@LandCruiserPhil , checked in with the Turbo Shop today, they were able to find a mechanical fan to fit the 4BT in the 80 and are doing a total new 3" stainless exhaust inside the frame rail. Should be sweet and hopefully i'll have it back to drive by Saturday. The hope was to get an alignment This Saturday at CBT @murf . I'll do a build thread when I get my head above water. We are still trying to move out of our house this weekend. Taking everybody's advice and am trying to drive it more than the 350 miles I have since I bought it last year, before heading to Colombia.

@CarbonCorsa So far, the plan is AZ (Sept)- Miami - Boat - Colombia - Ecuador - Peru - Bolivia - Chile - Argentina - Uruguay -Boat - Mexico (Feb 2016) - Home (AZ). I'd be happy to share specific research we've done.

Working on a multi-country insurance policy with MAPFRE now. Anybody know insurance policies that cover South America?

Once upon a time when I owned a 41 foot hole in the water, I found some insurance for emergency health evac from strange places - basically anywhere they could land a chopper. Might be worth looking into. I do not remember the details, and pretty sure what I found isn't available anymore... but if you surf some yachting sites for global marine travel you may find something interesting. It wasn't all that expensive for the airlift service offered at the time... Things may have changed.

... After typing the above, I remembered a detail: the service used a fleet of chartered planes and jets, and would get you on one if you were at all safely movable, and that would get you stateside for real healthcare covered by your primary insurance.

Assuming you mean health insurance... used MedJet before but not sure if they offer coverage in S.A.

Always looking for Vehicle Insurance options abroad, or good value health insurance. World Nomads does emergency Health coverage but it's not very good

Friend of mine stumbled across this while doing research on a new hay baler. Tittle: "Appropriate background music"....
