Loud if only you guys knew what is in the works for my LX within the next 6-12months:flipoff2:

Jim Chow did a light meter test comparing his stock halogens to the HID kit we both installed, it was closer to 4x as bright.

I have to agree with Loud, HIDs put out quite a bit more than 2800 lumens

they're canadian....
:D
I didn't pay attention... so, there's federal tax (5%)... but anyway, 40$ to ship (dome light+ bike mono hid kit) from Toronto to Ottawa is a little bit expensive... I paid 60 to have alu panniers for my bike from Frisco to Ottawa !
They don't offer alternative... but I will call them

Best headlight bulbs high and low beams, within acceptable heat range & PNP?

What is the consensus for today’s (almost 2014) best in class bulbs: Highbeam; HB3 9005 ~60 watts? Lowbeam; HB4 9006 ~51 watts?

In searching these bulbs I come up with variation like: ecobright, Ultra, high performance, white, blue, yellow etc… My tired old eyes need good light, but I’d like to keep them within stock spec with respect to heat producing range and PNP for easy of install.

I’ve read through mud and although I’ve seen some great modification options that look so cool, WOW, that could light a candle miles down the road. I’ve also read that the stock lens reflectors do not fair well in the heat of higher wattage bulbs. Some day I may armor up with Slee’s top shelf and best in class armor, along with modify the front end: grill, lights, etc… but not in the cash or time budget today. For now I’m just getting ready for winter, fluids, lights, de-rusting, waxing and such.

Oh, and how have bulbs, mods & updates this threads' faired?
