305's are in great shape. I'm asking $125/ea but would really like to sell as a full set of 5. I have one guy at work who said he was interested. Monday I go and get my spare done so then I'll be ready to sell them.

I can probably bring them up to GSMTR if they don't sell here.

Got the Slee lift done except for the fun stuff with the LCA's and panhard.

I haven't taken her out for a spin yet but will tomorrow and see how this setup compares to my TJM.

Anyone want a TJM 2.5 kit?!? Heh.

You have the sickest 80, around these parts, I know of.....
I can't wait to see it in action in a few weeks!

Thanks ;) I'm looking forward to that as well. It'll be good to meet you finally!

I know in guy in Gainesville who may be interested in the lift.

Send me a PM if it works out. I can part it out (springs only) or do the whole thing. It's got the 9-way adjustable shocks.

I'm half thinking that I could have still used the TJM shocks with the Slee springs. I really enjoyed the adjustability of them.

Wow, that's the 3rd bite on the TJM kit! I'm not sure about the price. I need to clean it up and take a look to see what's fair.

I'm also unsure if you're supposed to reuse the bushings or not... although they're only 2 years old.

So I spent a little time with the A/C today. It wasn't getting cold at all... around 78 at the vents with 90 ambient (F).

Got some gauges from harbor freight, and bought a 30lb bottle of 134a (because why buy at $1/oz when you can buy at $2/lb?). Pressures were showing undercharged, so I slowly let 134 in.

18oz later, it's at 57 out of the vents. But here's the odd thing... if you've been following my thread you'll know I did an expansion valve and dryer about 3 years ago when I got her. Then a year and some later, it was low again. This time I had a shop check it (I did everything by the book, vacuum was held over over 24 hrs, no problems), and put dye in this time.

Here it is another year or so later, and it's low again! But NO SIGNS of the dye anywhere!! Ack!

So I've definitely got some kind of leak - around 1oz/month by my math. But no signs of it anywhere.

I think I'm going to add an electric fan in front of the PS side of the condenser anyway... should help with temps all around anyway. And with the bigger alternator I have the capacity to spare....

By the way, that Slee 4" lift feels just like my TJM. I got the medium springs, not the heavy ones. Glad I did - I think it's perfect with my current setup.

I haven't been able to play with the low range yet since installing. Went around a parking lot a few times.

I was thinking about putting in a low range map override switch, but it seems like if you don't have the CDL locked, it doesn't put the low range map in. I need to play with it more to make sure and see when it does actually get engaged - but if that's the case, the PT kit really makes that much more sense to have. It's really annoying having to go from low to high when you just need to go a little ways, but don't want you neck snapped by the high shift points.

Thanks for the compliments! I need to get mine painted like yours - just a different color ;)

I should really be able to test them out at GSMTR. That's the plan at least!

mine is leaking at the evaporator. the crud built up at the bottom of the box under the dash allowed moisture to set in the bottom of the box and corrode the coils. my money is on that being your leak. you wont be able to see the dye until you pull the whole thing. my symptoms were the same as youre describing.

Thanks Danny. But I did pull the evaporator and flush it a few years ago. It didn't look that bad at that time.

Of course, that being said, my bet is that's the problem as well... I probably just need to break down and replace it and refurb the foam on the box.

...typed with my thumbs.

Should've painted everything white. It'd be real easy to find the leak then....

Welp, I finally decided the flares are gone.

Yeah, a little dirty under there.... she needs a bath.

You might notice the 30" LED light bar on there... that was another project I knocked out today. I'll post more pics of that later, but basically I put in a few relays and switches - now I have 3 sets of lights. One light bar (NICE!), the round eyes I had before, and I added two more just below the headlights looking outward. You can see them there if you look close.

And yes, I still need to pull a few of the studs out that mounted the flares in the front. I'm not looking forward to doing that, so procrastination wins this round.

Then I did a tremendous mod - I added 10HP! All it takes it applying this sticker in a strategic location, and you too can feel the gain:

I also replaced some of the soft brake lines... but I'm not happy (at all) with the pedal feel... ugh. Brakes are my nemesis, I swear. Anyway, that's pretty much all I've got left to do before I hit the trails at Windrock for GSMTR.

I have a feeling I'm going to be using some help bleeding the brakes once I get up there ... oh well.

Added an index to post #1 to make it easier to find stuff...

Also did a lot of small bits of work, including bringing the RCA plugs for the AUX on my head unit so I can change it out and plug in other devices (like my mini MP3 player). I found my phone doesn't always work so well for playing tunes when you're in the middle of nowhere :)

I also *finally* got my CB antenna properly mounted and tuned. The tire carrier was really messing with the SWR, making it almost useless. You can see where I mounted it now:

IMG_4633.jpg

After adjusting the length on the firestick, I got the SWR down to 1:1.5. I'll take it!

I also pulled all the remaining studs from the flares using pair of vice grips. To hell with going in from the other side of the fender!

Went and got her a bath too (that pic was from before then) - loaded up... ready for GSMTR! I'm shoving off around 3AM to load up with @LC60 ... can't wait!!

I've done my best to kill it, I'll tell you that.

From time to time I don't get to drive my truck for a while. So I have a battery tender on it - well, one time I forgot to plug it in, and the truck sat for about a month.

After I realized what I'd done, I check the voltage on the battery. 6v. Ooops.

So I slowly recharged it, and it came back from the dead. But it just wasn't right after that. I'd notice the voltage on the alternator was jumping around a lot, and it'd only last about a week off-charge with enough juice left to start the truck.

So I took it back to Sears, and they tested it. And tested it. And tested it... their machines took something like 30 minutes to test the battery... one time it showed good, but eventually showed failed.

So I'm on my 2nd. And yes, I've heard good and bad about them.... but for the price I paid and the warranty I got, I'm not complaining.

I did discover that if you stress a 12k winch while the truck isn't moving, you have about 4 seconds of high-strain pull before the battery is completely shot.

Time for dual batteries?

Time for dual batteries?

I've thought about it, but I don't 'expo' it enough to justify all the added complexity. I've got enough amps in my alternator now (I'm amazed how fast the 150A alternator will charge a near-dead battery), and I have my maintenance charger... it might just be enough.

Then again, it's never enough... it was supposed to be enough on 33's and 2.5" lift...
