Well..I was out of the country when the trail selection went live. 😟 I think I was exploring Bath England at the exact moment when the selection went live.

Thurs: Gold Bar Rim

Friday: Flat Iron Mesa, but wait listed for two others (Poison Spider, and Crystal Geyser/White Trash).

Saturday: Hells Revenge (Group A)

I have a Friday free for a harder wheeling day, and looking for any suggestions. I have to drive this thing 1600 miles home, but also am looking for technical challenging trails. Currently signed up for Moab rim which looks fun, but then as I look at videos of Pritchett Canyon it get me thinking... Then I remember 1600 mile home trip.

What say all ye?? I'm leaning toward sticking with Moab Rim. We are also going to be in town Sunday, so maybe I'll do some poking around and get a feel for the area.

Considering you live by me you do not have 1600 miles to get home . As far as trails you can break on the easiest trail . Moab rim is fun but really there is not much to it. 3 sections and that's it . Pritchett has more. but if you get in a spot its ok to pull line you don't get bonus points . You have a capable rig .

You talked me into it, why not make the most of the trip! It's a tough one reading descriptions and never being there before.

Now to fi ish checking wheel bearings and get the rear diff re-installed.

Could we revisit my parking brake question?

I've only ever been through tech inspection with an automatic. Which is what the requirement is written for.
Parking Brake: Must be able to stall engine when idling in 3rd gear (2nd gear if 3 speed).

Stalling the engine while in 3rd gear with a standard transmission and stock toyota horsepower is pretty easily done. Without any brakes at all.

So, my opinion is that is a pretty low bar. Which is fine. But i don't want any surprises. 🤪

Reason for my asking is that i have a home made parking brake due to my rear disks. And ive been struggling a little bit to get my leverage worked out right to convert my pull strength on the handle to show stopping brakes.

I aske the "Cruise Moab" instagram operator, and they just said "it's all on the website"

I hear what you’re saying about the engine being easy to kill in third at idle with a manual, but the engine doesn’t die when you pull up to a light in an automatic, so how can that be written for automatics?
I’m struggling with the same issue in my disk-converted D60 axle with a homemade mechanical linkage. And my Cummins 12 valve dies in third, brake working or not.

Considering a line lock.

If an 80's parking brake will pass, you should be good. They have to be the least impressive parking brake I have ever seen.

Yea, you dont actually "kill" the engine with the automatic. It just has to keep the vehicle from moving.

Poorly written.

I mean, my LX450 parking brake has no hope in hell stopping the 6.0L V8 in the engine bay. Every part is brand new.

My state requires that the vehicle doesn't move with the parking brake set and engine at ~1200 rpm. Somehow my PB has passed inspection, but it doesn't hold when I am at home testing. Not sure what the state inspector is doing...

Our parking brake requirement is taken straight from the TLCA Vehicle Inspection Requirements.
Vehicle Inspection Requirements | Toyota Land Cruiser Association - https://tlca.org/vehicle-inspection-requirements/#requirements

If you're not satisfied, I'm sure we could get the TLCA to change to be much more stringent.
Just saying...

No need, and i feel like im over reacting, but I just wanted to be absolutely, 100% sure i would not fail the tech inspection. That's the bottom line.
