Wow what a flashback. I believe that camo 80 series at 0:31 used to belong to Larry at Dirty Parts off road shop in LA. I remember when he sold it and bought his FJ Cruiser. I saved the listing for some reason.
I'd say this is the same Cruiser - the Camo pattern is identical.

It is the 1971 that is listed in my signature.

Steve are you still running a three speed? Was it a column shift originally? Non US market most likely not. If I ever get around to replacing the clutch my son destroyed in my 68 FJ40 will probably replaced the H42 I have in there with an H41. It's out of an 84 HJ47RV. Not sure about a disc brake axle up front but will remove the lock right in the front. Maybe okay with power steering but not with Armstrong steering.

Yes, still running the original three speed behind the original 1F engine.

Came from Okinawa with three on the floor and a PTO winch.

Ditched the winch when I changed to an Orion transfer case.

Did it make you more nervous letting someone else drive your rig
A little, but since my brother owned it for 38 years and I've only had it 12, I think he is more nervous when I'm driving him around!

Funky wiper?? Its just the wiper's home position is in the camera view.

I'll never forget you bawling out the FJ80's & 100's for stopping nilly-willy on the climb out of Humbug!

Glad you watched the video all the way to the end - I often wonder if anyone actually does ;)

I dunno - my wiper rests at the top of the windshield not the side :hmm:

and, BTW, the 80s and 100s still stop nilly-willy any trail I take my 40 on  (so, when I feel like it, I "educate" them ;)) - every time I am in the 80 or the LX, I make damn sure I don't misbehave like they do

with all of the newbies we have taken out on the trail lately (and who were all in autotranny trucks), I have always explained the "nilly-willy" problem, so that they don't inconvenience manual transmission trucks, but who knows how long the lessons last . . . :meh:
