I see it is back to the regularly scheduled programming.
Well, it was fun while it lasted :frown:.

Couple more pics to combat snorkel-boredom :):

View of Blue Notch Canyon from the saddle after the first climb, you can just see Lake Powell in the distance - parked at the lunch spot - a view down at the Lake

Out from BlueNotch Canyon, we hit blacktop and motored on to arrive in Moab at Tuesday night. Went to Eddie McStiff's to have dinner in the midst of a busload of French tourists. Found Lorna, Jim, Drew, and George at Pasta Jay's, and joined for a glass of wine.

Wednesday morning: down to Slickrock, Claudia went thru tech, while I chatted a bit with Steve, the trailboss. Met with Glen, and set out for Spring Canyon Point, with a stopover at Secret Spire.

My excuse for posting pics a second time is not senility, but the attempt to provide temporal context...

So: Secret Spire - Spring Canyon Point high above the Green River - not a bad spot to have lunch...:)

A never ending supply of cool screensaver wallpaper :D

I don't think I've ever seen Zuki Hill shot from that angle. It gives a nice perspective on the entire obstacle.

BTW, nice D ring abuse.:p

Juan, that's a cool shot of Mashed Potato :)

I've finally managed to get a Crack pic w/o a '40 bezel on my truck - upon questioning, my line was "...It's broken..." :frown:

Anyways: Winston spotting at the Crack - Winston disinterested in the proceedings...:crybaby: :)

At the river, we made the left turn to Chicken Corners.

Drew is looking across at the Germans taking a picture of me taking a picture, Winston doesn't care.:o

I find the serendipity of that afternoon striking.
I also find that the scale involved in this situation is fairly incomprehensible. :)

It turns out we were looking at each other in one of the most expansive and grand landscapes that one can possibly imagine... :grinpimp:

On Thursday we ran the traditional trail, Golden Spike. This time a few of us ran it "wildcat" the goal was to find the "Where Eagles Dare" alternate route, found it, but didn't run it.

There were several groups starting at the same time that we did, including the large "official" group. Made some time in the beginning, to get ahead of them, so few pix of the first obstacles.

The first optional climb.
