if you give me your trails I can let you know about them... some trails like Hells has a vary low risk of doing any damage unless you do some of the optional side sections. Other trails will have bypasses and there are some trails you don't have any options. I don't think you should have any problems

Drew, this is what I signed up for:

Thursday 1st: Rating: 4 Fins & Things - 2 Spots Left
Thursday 2nd: Rating: 4 Elephant Hill - Full, 10 Waitlist Spots Left
Thursday 3rd: No Trail Run
Thursday BLM: 2
Friday 1st: Rating: 5 Tip Toe Behind the Rocks - 4 Spots Left
Friday 2nd: Rating: 5 Porcupine Rim - 13 Spots Left
Friday 3rd: Rating: 5 Gold Bar Rim - 10 Spots Left
Friday BLM: 2

I have to be in Salem, OR on Sunday so no Saturday run.

Fins & Things - Vary low risk of doing damage

Elephant Hill - Vary low risk of doing damage, Vary long day

Tip Toe Behind the Rocks - I haven't done this run yet...But looks like it should be vary easy

Porcupine Rim - I haven't done this run yet

Gold Bar Rim - Low risk of doing damage you will drag your rear bumper a bit. There is a small risk of making contact with a rock to get up to the optional Poser Rock location if you don't take the right line

Cool truck.. even if it isn't an oil burner :D

Drew, you gonna be at the next meeting? Got a few questions about the pre run stuff (which I'm hoping to make).
Maybe I should boge the 857 and Chameleon into the 74 for kicks (though that would mean I have to learn how to use it first... ;p

I went for easier runs for my first Moab experience - Fins and Things, Gold Bar Rim, and Elephant Hill.

84cruzer looking forward to seeing you down there...

Norm,
Next meetings the 12th correct? Busy week for me but I should be there. I will be more then glad to answer what I can, as of right now we are still throwing ideas around on the Copper State Cruiser planning thread. I'm currently working on my route down there. trying to see if I can fit a little bit of time to check out San Rafael Swell before getting to Blanding later Saturday afternoon.

Get to it. I thought you already had the radio mounted in the 74. You should get at least the 2m side up and going, there are lots of hams that will be attending and all of the trails have both CB and Ham frequencies assigned to them. If you need a hand let me know.

Fins and Things is a great introduction to Moab slickrock, Gold Bar Rim is a must do and completely different then Fins, and Elephant Hill is a nice drive and long day.

Cool - meeting's on the 11th. I have the 7800 in the 74 now, been meaning to swap it out for the 8800 in the 70. Thought it might be fun to have an HF setup to play with too...

Need to swap the stereo out of the 70, get my pyro/boost gauges installed, and finish up the rebuild of my 24V 8274. That's actually a pretty short list...
(edit - never mind. 5 minutes later I've already thought of 10 other things to do...)
I'm looking at your flickr Moab pics right now. Uh, you might want to change Whipout Hill to Wipeout Hill... or maybe you meant to do that ;p

Drew, What is the latest on hooking up with the Copper State Cruisers, south of Moab to do some runs before Cruise Moab starts?
What CC guys are into doing this ??

The normal CSC crew will be attending(5 - 7 trucks). As Keven said in an earlier post they don't do a lot of planning. I just posted over in there form seeing if they had decided on towns and hotels yet. I'lll post up over here as soon as I hear anything... I'm planning on meeting them in Mexican Hat or Monticello on the afternoon of the 24th.

i'd like to do that - what day are you guys planning on leaving here and arriving there?

I think I have to work up to the 24th.

I'm planning on leaving on the 21st to meet up with the CSC on the 24th, there should be no problem with you meeting up with us along the way.

Drew - let me know OK Mexican Hat, Monticello April 24th - Sat.
What about US topos.I have City Nav for the highway and towns - no topos yet

We'll be leaving after work Friday 23rd, and get the border crossing behind us. Hoping to get past Seattle and likely find a place to camp in the hills southeast of there.

We probably won't be meeting up with you guys until Moab. Jenni gets to plan the first half of the trip, so likely not going to be strictly wheeling based, seems fair.
