ahhh - the wi-fi is up!

OK, some of my pics from Day 4 - thats Tuesday - we had trouble getting reliable mileage of the trail, but the sign was closest - it turned out to be a total of about 58 miles asphault to asphault. Scenery was incredible, lighting sometimes difficult.

The first part of the trail was easy and incredibly scenic. After a while we got into some obstales and step shelf roads with spectacular views in all directions, again the camera can't capture the expanse- it can only be appreciated first hand. The trailer in the 3rd picture was really fun to get thorugh - it did great on some tough terrain and steps. We only flipped it once!

We missed you on Poison Spider on Saturday...
I know we said we'd go on Moab Rim, but it got cancelled - so we went on Poison Spider anyway... never been up there in hail... first time I saw an '80 fly, and a '100 rip off the stock rear bumper...:D

We met up with Drew (BC_FJC) and his dad George from Canada in Mexican Hat, unfortunately they had a front a arm issue and had to chase parts to get it sorted.

We set off for Monticello, unlike most we didn't take the perfectly good highway and ran Butler Creek. First we made the typical CSC wrong turn and found a cool canyon with hand stacked switch back road into it, then a newer very narrow asphalt highway that both used a wooden bridge at the same location, long washed out. So it was back out to the main highway to find the correct turn off.

Butler Creek turned out to be a dirt road with plenty of cool views, there is reported to be several ruins along it if you have time to explore. Our goal was Arch Canyon, the only pic of note that I took is of this huge hole in the rim face.

Some shots of the big ruin at the beginning of Arch.

The arch that the canyon gets it's name from. On the other side of the canyon is a big stand of Ponderosa pines, a couple of swimming holes in the creek, in other words a great camping spot with killer views.
