Only way to make an 80 "Lighter" is to do what bossman did. that cage will add another 5-600 lbs.

300lbs of tube will add 5-600lbs?

He was factoring in your filler welds.

People would ask me about the bedlined 80...
"I bet that adds like 100 pounds huh?...."
"No... actually the paint weighed about 10 lbs before I sprayed it on... pretty sure it didn't hit up the buffet in between"
""

The only reason I can see to use an exo cage is to protect sheet metal.

Otherwise it puts weight up high....not where you want weight. Weight is all bad and high weight is the worst.

I say keep thinking......

so think: ino-cage? incab only?

That is what I would do. Maybe exo just the part around the cab. One other cool option would be to replace the cab you built with a cage of similar proportions. Trade out weight of what is left of your cab for the tube.

Inside roll cage and remove doors. That should even out the weight ;)

Impromptu wrenching session..

Either tonight and/ or sunday would be great.

I could use some help mocking the auto/ doubler / Dana 300 in the zuk.

I need to see where the Dana 300 rear output ends up so I can build the lower link mounts.
Lower link crossmember may end being part of skid plate depending where Dana 300 lands.

Once I build the lower link mount then I will be able to move the zuk.

PM me if you need directions to my house

Lift kit easy. Regear is a bit more labor intensive. When I regeared I did it at the shop over the course of a weekend. It was time consuming but well worth it.

well if i buy the old man emu 2.5 medium lift and 1 inch spacer is there any body hear that could help with the install

For what reason will you be utilizing the 1" spacer? If it's to level out the truck, you may want to compare the total cost with one of Man-a-Fre's "Level Stance" kits. When I was looking for my lift, I compaed the different lift kit prices, and theirs was right in line with the others. Again, I haven't looked at prices of lifts + spacers, but you might be able to save some money by buying one of their kits (with a winch/ARB bumper, mine sits perfectly level) Just a thought.....

Level stance is just heavy fronts and medium rears. Sits mostly level, just a bit of rake.

If you are going to do 345's like mine, I would strongly suggest you get J springs all around and a 30mm spacer for the front to level it out.

"blue" caster correction bushings.

will that work i talked 2 cris the other day when i was at 49 tire and he recomended the old man emu 2.5 medium and the front 1inch spacer. since i dont have a arb or winch. he also was saying not 2 run 37s for a daliey driver cuz the castor problems but not sure im kinda starting to like the toyo mts but i want a true 35-36 i don't want a side wall 35 or 36. That mesures 33-34 if that makes any sense. yall tell me what the best setup would be for a dd thanks

okay wngrog do u have a pic
