Hell, I live here so it's no big deal either way to me. I'm off Friday now so I'm going to hit some places regardless.
E- depending on DNP, we can just go wheel 100s and eff off on Friday if you want. A drive up to Little River is on my list.

69 days until kickoff.
Right now the part of the trip I am planning is Wednesday - Monday. It takes a full day of JRob style driving to get there. I took the slow route out there stopping and eating and it took me about 18 hours going out and about 14 hours coming back as fast as I could. GPS says 13 hours to Marathon, TX. That is the most logical entrance to us coming in from the East.

Big Bend July 16-18
The plan now is to cover the park very similar to the way I covered it in July. Start at the top and work around the park clockwise.
The ace-in-the-hole we have on this trip is my friend @yetiranger. Not only is he a Park Ranger, but he lives there and can make sure we camp in the best spots and see all the cool stuff. As of now, he is planning on going with us on some of this adventure. I can't wait to spend more time with him and hear the stories he has from working this awesome park for the last 3 years.
The size of our group will dictate some of the camping options we will have. Big Bend limits you to 5 vehicles per site but some of the sites are really close to each other. I really want to camp on the Rio Grande one night and in the mountains one night. I would be fine with leaving the camp in the mountains but I would not want to leave it the river.
We will then be moving out to Big Bend Ranch State Park for the final night. Those that want to extend the trip should plan on sticking it out through then and then head out via Marfa.
Again, it does not matter how many go, just realize that we will be in groups of 5 vehicle at night. The 2 sites I have in mind, Loop Camp (river) and Pine Canyon (mountains) are close to each other so we will be fine.
All the camping will be backcountry since this is the "high" season at Big Bend. I have no desire to camp with all the snow-birds in the big campgrounds.
As for Big Bend State Park. I really have no clue. I have read everything I can find but their motto is Bring 2 Spares. They cater to off-roaders

Early. We will meet up somewhere out there I'm sure to allow everyone time to get on the road and drive at their own pace once we find out the group.

Tomorrow at 6 am this trip graduates from the Opine thread to the Camping Reports thread.
Packed. Ready. Just 3 of us. Maybe Andy for one night.
If anyone wants to join us we will be at these coordinates on Friday night and likely Saturday night unless we decide to try another spot Saturday night. This will be decided over copious quantities of Four Roses bourbon on Friday night.
