Anyone down for a new years eve weekend in the forrest....I say start Mena/LRF area and work our way up to Cass area. I am going to have help here to babysit so wife is in.

Down

I did have to use it. We used my truck for the radio. My fridge shut off at about 10 pm.

From what I am reading, these Sears/Optima batteries need more charging capacity than my 100 can generate.

The battery mender gets it right then I slowly kill it the more days I'm out.

The boost thing is sweet. Says it will start a car 30 times.

As for the bat....

I'd love to go back and explore that area some more. It may be a little too close to the Big Bend trip. For now, put me down as a "want to" but may be tough.

That's not a bat. Looks like a sphinx moth missing the head.

It's a moth. It doesn't have joints in the wings or thumbs at the end of its wings. Also bats are not mottled in color like that. It's also missing feet at the posterior of its body.

And why, you ask, do I know these things about bats? I spent 2 summers catching the little buggers, gluing on transmitters, and then chasing them around with telemetry gear.
