I got to see the Boondocks facility a few weeks ago though my new job. It's a really nice facility. Looks like they threw a couple million at the build. They are going to nail the ladies market for MS.
Good get, Grogan. How much did the Crimson Trace add? I would prefer the model without the thumb safety but nice choice
Heck yeah. Nice to see what my gun looks like with CT on it.

We both shot about 50 rounds today.
I am average with mine
The laser is a bit distracting. I can do better without it I believe.
That said, it's pretty cool.

My grandfather passed earlier this year and the only thing I asked for was his service pistol. He was a master chief boiler technician, served in the Navy for 30 years and retired to the family farm. I got it yesterday. Serial number puts it as a 1943, frame markings all make it an all Colt model.
Also came home with an 1838 black powder rifle that has Springfield Armory markings on it.
I'm very proud of his service and am very thankful for all of you who continue to serve.

Hit the 100 yard range today to test some new ammo
Top was some 65 grain Winchesters I got for my AR-15 to shoot a deer. I'm pretty happy with that group for a red dot at 100 yards
Larger hole is 7mm mag. Ran out of ammo and new stuff hits where old stuff does so it's good
The two together in bull are some new 22-250 ammo I got. I should probably be shooting a bit higher at 100 yards with that gun but it's on. I'll use Kentucky windage for anything long

I, too, ended up with a couple of special firearms when my father passed. The first was this 1911 German Luger that my father picked up in French Morocco while stationed there in the 50's.
The second was his Belgian Browning Sweet 16 purchased for him by my mother the year I was born (1961). I am proud to be able to protect and preserve them and pass them along when that time comes.
Those Lugers have always amazed me in the way they cycle. My grandfather was a fun guy and I hope to get a few more of his collection once some of the dust settles. My grandmother could care less, but my dad is a bit reserved and doesn't want to upset the balance, so I am patiently waiting. We went over on Saturday and was looking thru the collection, among several others there we're 2 sweet sixteens, and a Browning 20 ga, a m1 gerande and an m1 carbine, 2 German lugers, a nickel played 1911A1, a Navy commemorative Thompson, a gold adorned remmington 44-40 and several other rifles of varying vintage.
I've asked for the gerande and one of the 16 GA brownings. Don't think they are spoken for, so hoping to bring them home.
The strange thing is my dad didn't hunt and we only had a 22LR rifle when I was growing up, but I guess I take after my Pa and just enjoy rifles and handguns and things that go boom. Anytime I ever built a new rifle or got something new, I'd always take it buy and we talk shop a little. Gonna miss those days, but I look forward to catching up with him one day on the other side.
