Figured it would bring thinner.

I tried it right after while hot no luck. Then tried it at shop temp.

Freezer did it.

I did not know I was buying steel. Just bought cheapest.

I saw Mr. Wizard do something like this. The barrel shrinks toward the midpoint of the OD & ID, so the ID actually gets slightly bigger.

His experiment only worked with cold, not heat.

Is the casing stuck or the bullet? If it is the bullet, make sure your barrel is 5.56 and not .223

It was the casing. It's out. I could not even see where it had swollen visually.

Barrel is for both.

I'm pretty sure the shaft is spoken for. There might be an FJ60 shaft though.

i think the confusion is that you seem to be using the word barrel interchangeably with chamber. So the bullet did not get stuck in the barrel, the case got stuck in the chamber? That tends to be a problem with the lacquer they put on those russian steel cased ammo, as the chamber heats up, that stuff gets gummy and can lead to failures. But I've had brass cased stuff get stuck pretty good too. Biggest (only???) drawback to the AR-15 is that it likes to be clean.
