Been very slim pickings around here.
Tonight I saw a buck chasing a doe at 4:05 then another one chasing a doe at 5:20

Big fresh scrape out front around 300 yards. I used to could drop them that far. Not so sure anymore. If shells were not $70 a box maybe I would practice.....

I had a wide short 8 pt try to commit suicide this morning. He escaped while I was trying to get his picture.
Spent the rest of the AM rearranging deer stands with dad. It's great to have his toys.

Was watching this deer tonight for about 5 minutes. He stood dead still and I thought he was watching me. Turns out he was waiting for a younger deer same rack size 100# smaller to try him.
So I smoked him when I realized he was about 4 yrs old with a crap rack
Most of my deer weigh 140-160 dressed this time of year. This guy was 185
Best part was skinning with the boys

I've got a big creek that runs through the east side of my farm. When we planted the pines 2002 the .gov had a program in place where we could plant hardwoods along watersheds to reduce erotion. You can see how much the pines outpace the oaks.
