I wouldn't buy one of the 50 GI's, but I'd be lying if I said the No Name in 45acp wasn't on my list of grail guns.
A grandish from CDNN. Mags are dirt cheap. I'm not a huge fan of the hk style guns, but they do have a huge following. I owned a HK once. I wasn't overly impressed.
If you want to put a couple hundred bucks plus into it, this is your huckleberrry. Drastic improvement for me, plus the 2nd and 3rd shot is easy to get off now.

The new minis have improved accuracy 5x from what I am told.
New tooling and other mfg qualities have changed at Ruger.
I shot a new one right out of the box and I was probably at 3-4 MOA iron sights at 100yds from bench rest.
I don't really care to shoot 223 beyond 150yds as it's just not that powerful of a round. I would be surprised to take a 250lb hog out with 223 at 100yds.
I've heard the new ones were better, but I have no desire to spend money on getting mine right. If it weren't for the fact that my mother gave it to me, I'd have sold it long ago. I think the AR platform is superior in every way, save for the ability to use the ruger's heavy action as a crow bar or bludgeoning tool. The one thing that can be said for the ruger is that you're not going to break it.

Same here. Don't have a need for that caliber which is expensive to shoot and don't need that much knockdown power. Perfectly happy with .45 ACP.
I've been lusting at the GI CCO and No name. Looked at Wilson, Brown, Baer, and NH. Most likely will end up owning a GI in the future unless I come across a smoking deal on a Wilson.
Yeah, I have no desire for a proprietary hard to find round.
I have a Baer, it's awesome until you try to strip it down. It's so tight that you need a pry bar to get the bushing out. I hate that most of the Wilson's seem to be coated in a duracote type product. I want either a gorgeous blue or bullet proof melonite finish at that price. My next will either be another Baer, or an sti 2011 depending on which way I decide to go for competition.... Unless I find a smoking deal on a GUncrafter.

I fondled an 11-87 youth today at Bass Pro Memphis. Not a fan at all of black plastic stocks. There was a Turkish Weatherby for $500 that felt a bit lighter but the quality was low.
I used to own a Benelli Montefeltro.....they are expensive but I liked it.....for a Benelli

Recoil is the main reason a swell as simplicity.
Doesn't take long to figure out a pump but that's another step.
My Montefeltro kicked every bit as hard as a pump.
They make a 11-87 in 20 with a wood stock. Not sure it is "youth" length though. You might have to order it.
Assuming you mean Beretta 391? Which is indeed a fine shotgun. Beretta would be my choice for autoloader. Only Ruger shotguns I've ever seen are the Red Label O/U's.
